The one that was on the radio was 10 amps. The one for the accessories is 15 amps though I've tried with slightly higher amperage fuses thinking it might just be too low an amperage and got the same result...blown fuse. Took the head unit out to open it...going to see if there's anything that stands out as being wrong. Read elsewhere there's a mini fuse on other Lilliput screens so I'll check to see if maybe it's bad.

And the accessories one is breaking?
its an aftermarket HU?
Mine claims to run a little more than 200 watts, and niether 10 nor 15 amps would be enough to power that.
Fuses do several things, prevent spikes in current and prevent too much current from being drawn. In either case the fuse would "pop".
p=ie
watts = volts x amps +/-12v x 15A = 180watts
My ten cents is that it is not a large enough fuse.
Either way, wait for someone else to confirm

What about the fact that it's only happening when the car is hot as in when the car is parked under the sun for an extended period of time? For instance...I'll fix everything up replacing all fuses and turn it on during the night or a cool time and then the fuses don't pop and everything seems to be working fine... does the transformer have anything to do with this? I'll check out what you said though...I'm thinking the manual will have something about what you said.

Transformer?
"An electrical device that either raises or lowers the voltage of electricity."
I don't think there would be any transformers in your car.
Although, I did put one in my house to raise the voltage from 110v to 220v.

"Look at the fuse when it
blows. If it looks OK, but is open, meaning it melted at one of the
ends from the heat, this is a good indicator of bad fuse clips making
the fuse overheat. "

I just added the relay for the stereo connecting it to the hefty 4 gauge amp wire and so far it's working. But again it's nighttime so it's cool outside. We'll see what happens tomorrow during the day.
In the meantime I've run into yet another problem
One of the gears has now broken. Specificaly the one on the motor that makes the screen sit upright. I tried gluing it but that only helped temporarily. I've now resorted to having to help the monitor up until I can figure out what to do now and even then it's having a hard time retracting it back into the housing... I'll try searching around here to see if anything comes up. Does anyone know if these gears are standard and if there's any way to buy one?

Ok...so far it's been working like a charm. No blown fuses or any ill effects from installing the relay. Then again it hasn't been that hot. I'll check later to see if this report changes.
I'm still unsure what to do about the broken gear problem. Is there any such thing as an authorized Lilliput service center or will any electronics repair store do? I could change the gear but I don't have one to change it with...

Well it's been over a week now and stereo is working great and no blown fuses and it's been pretty darned hot around here these days. Laptop's working fine, screen turns on, now all I have to do is fix that broken gear problem. For that I'm trying to work with the distributor which apparently has spare parts but they're in Hong Kong I think and takes forever for email to be answered. Soon as I have something I'll post about it.

I've been following this thread because I think that this is the only Suzuki install that I have read about. I hope to have mine finished soon.

Cool. I have groupies
Hope you guys learned from my terrible install what NOT to do
So I've got the people that sold me the head unit, Lilliput themselves, and Lilliput North America all getting the part for me. I figured if it broke once it could break again so I'll have a spare at hand just in case. Communication is a pain in the arse though. They're only around from like 10pm onwards due to the time difference...

So the comedians over at Lilliput wanted to charge me $25 shipping to send me that one small plastic gear So I guess I'm stuck waiting for the distributor which said it would be a few days only anyways. Hope that's accurate...

Well...the gear is on its way but it comes from China I believe so it'll take a week. I'll get it next week...hopefully.
