she is definitely not a *****, my gf is a *****, red is not a *****. the problem is, you have a problem with taking advice....a huge problem. the more she tells you, the more you test her. to be honest, I think you are a moron. dont give advice (like in your original pic.) take it, from someone (red) who has been competing in audio systems for many years and taken 1st place more than once. installing neons on a friends car is nothing to brag about.
A bit behind aren't we
Hope your gf doesn't know about this forum. Quite frankly I find it disrespectful and distasteful that you honor a complete stranger over your gf. But that's just me.

Glad someone's getting a positive out of my ordeal.
Still waiting for the gear to come in BTW.

I've noticed how a red dot is now under my name. A thank you goes to those who can't read and decided to give me negative reputation.

...well the vendor sent me a set of gears and it turns out that they sent me the wrong ones which I figured would happen. So I'm still without the necessary gear to fix this issue. Guess I'll try buying it from Lilliput themselves.

I know we're past this, but just for some insight:
I install at a shop here in San Antonio (custom sounds) and have seen some really bad things happen with car's. We had a guy who got an amp from us, installed it himself, and ran his power through the door, when he closed it, it shorted out, caught his car on fire and destroyed his car as well as two cars in front and behind his.
we also had a guy come in for "warranty" on his car that had 8awg wire running from the battery to his fuse which had no plastic cover over it one the BATTERY side, and had one on the other side. out of the fuse was 4awg wire to his amp, then speaker wire from there that was twisted together (not even taped) to his speaker that was dropped in a box, not screwed in, now even seated well, just there, with air escaping everywhere.
Mostly the reason why installers get so mad when people are doing things incorrectly, is that it really can cause some serious damage, and it kills me to see something done in such a way that it will fail eventually.
Soldering your connections was a great idea, and a lot of times using a relay will help.
question: are you using your remote/accessory wire to actually run componants in the car? or just using it as a turn-on?
also, as a side note, my first "install" (way before I actually got paid to do it) I used the same method of twist the wires together, cover with electrical tape, etc. and had a LOT of problems with it. once I soldered everything, got the correct amperage fuses, distrobution blocks, good ground points, etc. I had virtually no problems.
good luck on the install, and if you need any physical help have a good shop there look at it, and just make sure everything is done properly, get a quote, and make it specific on what they want to fix and how much it is, etc. and report back to us. a lot of us have been to, or worked for car audio shops, and know what a decent rate is for things.

There is one thing other than the amp turning on off of that remote wire and that's a neon tube that's in the trunk. The headunit isn't connected to this wire anymore though since I had to put a relay on it and make it standalone so there's really not much drain at all on that remote wire.
And don't worry...the amp was always hooked up the right way with the right fuse and big enough gauge wire (4 gauge) for the battery and ground connections. And yes I did that install but I've never had to even think about soldering when installing an amp so there's no relationship to the stereo install.

I'm thinking I'm going to ghetto rig the broken gear tonight with some wire I have and hope it holds at the spot I'm thinking it (the wire) could be at without affecting anything else. The position the gear is at will allow this without much fanfare. Will report back if I actually get to do this.

Ghetto rig plan 2 went into effect after the vendor emailed me stating they're sending the right gear.
Plan 2 is tape the monitor up against the dash until I get the necessary parts

Wow... so I'm posting again to at least inform anyone interested that after 4 tries I got the right gear in and I'm back in business with my motorized screen.
Here's what transpired:
The first time as I already mentioned in a previous post, I was sent the wrong gear. Same with the second time. The third time I was sent anything it never made it. Must have gotten lost at sea from China to here. I FINALLY got the right one on Saturday, installed it, and presto! One thing though was that the vertical movement of the screen had ceased. Was stumped by this and while at work today I had a revelation. There is a wheel with a chip board attached to it on the side of the motor that tilts the screen. I thought that this might be the "sensor" that tells the stereo that the screen is as straight as it can go so I took one screw out, adjusted the wheel to another position, put the screw back in, tested it, and it was working now! After a few more adjustments of this wheel I got the screen working perfectly now. A bit slow in being pushed out mind you but I think it's because I've managed to remove some of the grease on the tracks due to my handling. So it's all good now.
Now...if I can just find something around here about the noise coming through the A/C adapter... guess I'll start searching through the gazillion posts on here
