Dang... I was worried about that PSU having enough power to fuel my system, and mine is a P4 Mobile 2.4 Ghz, less RAM, smaller HDD, and less accessories.
Good news for me, I guess
i'm having a problem with Service Pack 2 for XP. I think it's the motherboard bios which i may need to update if that's the problem. If i run WinXP w/o SP2 it's ok.

uhm - case? there is no case! i stuffed everything behind the monitor! it's all well mounted but it all sits stuffed in behind the monitor. The hard drive i mounted in a small area over the glove compartment (used springs and a long IDE cable and power supply).
Yeah, i'm driving a Cadi. It's a Catera, the predecessor to the CTS. Looking at your install has made me decide on my next car.

Nice car, nice install.
But, you really should optimize the OS. No need to log in, you can get rid of that. Also, VISTA may not be the best way to go. Stick with XP and a great FE (I see you mentioned CF< good choice)
Have you ever run a power calculator on your system, or did you just intall everything and hope for the best?

man, this install is kik'n my ***. i can't seem to install XPSp2 without problems. Here's the rundown.
I install XP all drivers, all devices, everything works fine. Only problem i can't use SD because it requires DirectX9 - DirectX9 can't be installed cause it needs SP2?!?! yikes - The problem with SP2 - after i install it - it ramdonly reboots all the time - espcially if i try to install anything. It's frustrating.
I was thinking about setting up XP with all devices installed and working and no SP2 - then upgrading to Vista - maybe Vista will keep all my devices working thru the upgrade.
Reason i mention this is because i did a fresh install of Vista and nothing worked -
PS what is a power calculator that you mention?

very nice install. i could see another lcd display where your ash tray is though :-) maybe something that would integrate with winamp and show track info or a spectrum analyzer... looks really good regardless though.
P.S. can't see your blog without being added as a friend on myspace

don't mind the haters, they are just doing their job! i wouldn't mind pushing a CTS-V or an STS-V if i had my choice of the cadillac line up. your install is tastefully done, and your video was a creative way of displaying the install. i hope that you get the kinks worked out with your install, it must suck having a sweet system that isn't functioning as intended. the power calculator mentioned a couple posts back is a tool for adding up the power requirements of your components and to ensure that your power supply is meeting your needs. power issues have been known to cause all types of anomalies, bringing out the ugly side of a beautiful install.

it's fixed now....
i was also able to fix the usb problems, i think it's a mixture of SP2 and power feeding into the motherboard. SP2 is a hog and the power supply is probably not able to handle it. What i'm thinking of doing is adding a second powersupply to the system - connecting all USB hubs power to it and the hard drive. This will leave the original powersupply to power only the motherboard and any usb devices connected to it.
i'm also considering "upgrading" to Vista with everything working correctly to see what will happen. What i'm hoping happens is that everything carries over ok and works ok. Keep hope alive....

**** U for your negativism!
After digital, your install is awesome...don't let the jealous haters in our midst rain on your parade.
Obviously, to make such an ignorant statment, only means that he/she has never driven a Cadillac...carry on Sir, carry on!!!!
And by the way, I've owned both 7-series BMW's and Cadillacs...to each his own. And the definition of a piker is:
pik·er
(plural pik·ers)
n (informal)
1. stingy person: somebody who is stingy with money
2. petty person: somebody who does things in a small-minded or petty way
3. cautious gambler: somebody who gambles cautiously with little money
