We'll, new car means new carputer =D

When I got the car it had a 1-din stereo in it, but as I wanted it to look as OEM as possible I got hold of a 2-din module and "just" (some adjustments) swapped it.
I've built a 2-din module for the Xenarc in 4mm plexi, will upload better photos of it later.

Carputer hardware is as follows:

Xenarc 700TSV
Epia M10000
512mb ram
Opus 120w
60gb 2.5" HDD
BU-353
Netgear WPN111
D-link DBT-120

Most of it it from my old carputer, but wlan and bluetooth has been added.

I'm using standard WinXP Pro (swedish) with standby. I'm running FreeWay as frontend, and FreeDrive for gps.

The carputer itself has been mounted in the sparewheel compartment, together with my amps. It has one vga and one usb cable running to the front. I had to rip everything out...

Mounting of Mobo, HDD and PSU.

"Finished" mounting of amps and carputer. All cables has too be shortned thou. All of it is 10mm plexi. The 400w amp drives 4 1/2" tweeters and 4 6.5" midrangers (placed in the doors). The other amp is 2x400w, bridged to 1x800w, and it drives a 12" MDS X-MAX sub.

Finished:

tjena

Look at the photo just below the sentence "I had to rip everything out...". I've mounted it right behind the left wheel housing. It sits behind metal, but it locks on 8 / 10 satelites thou, so it works pretty well. (upgraded to a bu-353 last week)

The fan blows the hot air out of the sparewheel compartment. It gets in from pretty much everywhere... Here is a better pic:
