2006 Mustang GT Carputer Setup, upgrade from 2005 Mustang V6

Well, I upgraded not only my carputer, but my car. I went from a 2005 Mustang V6 to a 2006 Mustang GT. I kept the same general carputer setup, but I just took the opportunity to clean things up a bit and add some new features. This is my setup:
iBase MB896
Intel Pentium M 1.6
512 MB DDR2 RAM
80 GB 2.5” HD
7” Lilliput Touchscreen
Mechatroniks Custom DIY LCD Dash Kit
Opus 150 Watt DC-DC Smart PSU
Phoenix Gold Octane-R 5.1 Mobile Theater AMP
Windows XP Pro with Centrafuse
USB RadioXtreme FM Tuner
BU-353 Waterproof GPS Receiver
Belkin F8T012 USB Bluetooth Adapter
D-Link DWL-G122 USB WiFi Adapter with external Antennae connector

I have successfully setup the Bluetooth adapter to supply the carputer with internet from my Verizon cellphone. I also took the time to install the AMP to the rear drop down seat, whereas before it was under the front passenger seat. This makes the setup seem more professional. I have install pictures, so if anybody is interested, let me know. I can explain in detail what I did, but to those to wish to view more pictures, you can check out this link.

I like this!

On your in-dash monitor mount, do you have more specifics? I have a 2003 Mercury Marauder with the double-din unit and would like something that I can attach my Lilli 7" to and just "snap" it into the hole. Something that makes the front look flush like yours.

I'm saving up for a couple years so I can buy a used 05-06 GT. Once the Marauder is paid for, I'm going for a Yellow GT like my old '70 428 SCJ Mustang. They rock!

Link. There is the website where I ordered the LCD/computer chassis. As long as they make a dash kit for you car, you should be able to attach the chassis into the dash kit.

'stang audio

Hey nice work on that mustang. I currently own a 95' 5.0 stang bored .030 over to a with a 347 stroker, six-speed manual, with ported heads. Its my quartermile 10 second weekend car. I am a mustang fanatic at heart and love your car.

Ok enough jock riddin. The reason for my post is to find out more about your audio system as i am about to blow a wad on my 2004 Audi S4. I am particularly interested in the interface between your verizon phone (i have a razor phone from verizon) and your head unit. Are you able to pull up...say ebay.com on your lily headunit touch screen? If not, what can you pull up? And do you have any ideas on how i can achieve checking my email, or pulling up ebay? I am very technologically sound in computer component parts (processors, HD, video cards, etc) and would be able to install a computer in the car. Especially if i could run windows. My headunit is the Kenwood Excelon 25th anniversity 7" touch screen.

I am also very interested in the Phoenix Gold 5.1 Dolby Digital Omega Amp you have running your highs. How you do like this amp? Where did you get it? How much should i expect to spend? Would you buy again?

What specifically does this 5.1 Dolby amp offer? Is it a true 5.1 surround sound for your automobile?

I am running the stock Manufacuters speakers right now. Which include 12 Bose speakers. (four tweaters one in each door, four 6.5' in each door, two dash speakers in front and rear, one center speaker in front and rear dashes). I am upgrading the front door speakers with component speakers. Do you think the PG 5.1 Dolby is the right amp to power all these 12 speakers?

Thanks for your feedback feel free to email me at alan3dintel@yahoo.com alan3dintel at yahoo, com for pics and mustang talk, especially if you want to boost your performance in your stang.

I am actually posting this inmy car while using the VW connection through Bluetooth from my VX6700. The internet connection is a standard innternet connection, everything is open for access. As far as the AMP, it was definitely the right purchase. I paid $300 for mine from a local audio store. I gotta go, I will post again to answer other questions.

I am very interested in the details of this install. I am looking to do roughly the same thing with my system in my 06 gt. If i could get those details that would be very helpful, especially in pricing it out before i start. thanks.

Here is the list that I put together. That's pretty much everything that I can think of, but I have updated some of the wiring using some of the AMP wiring kits from like WalMart. If you can't open the link, let me know and I can PM you the info.

No problem. I have more pictures than are posted, so I will compress them all up for you and then link them for download. I am at work right now, but I will try to get it done within the day.
