Messing with the audio ...

If I was doing this same project today, I would surely go for something like this to drive the audio from the carputer to the factory speakers:

http://www.scosche.com/ecom/download/GM20SR-singles.pdf

http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductD...ons_111706.pdf

Believe me, it will avoid some headaches in case of eventual manipulation by somebody not involved in your installation.

I spent the last 2 afternoons fixing the installation because people at the dealer disconected everything (I have already taken the CPU out and only left the cables) to fix the AC and then they were unabale to connect anything back in the right position.

I've discussied with my audio expert about the chance of modifying the installation using one of those huge military connectors to drive all the cables through just one Plug&Play harness.

I will keep you updated if we finally decide to go for it.

nice find... i may consider this option over the summer. Just one question: Can you use this AND keep the factory radio? My only purpose is to interface the computer into the factory radio and speakers.

As for the BTC stuff, uh, that sounds very, very interesting. Good luck.

Interface

I'm pretty sure it would work with a PC, but I guess it will involve some welding job to drive the RCA cables through the ISO connectors (as always, )

Regarding about the BTC connector, if I finally go for it and it works I will give you all the details to build your own harness.

@GizmoQ

life is occurring every moment for me. My computer has been up and running fine so not much to say about it - just enjoying it. But i peek my head in these forums every now and then to say what's up...

how's your carputer working out?

Carputer

Mine is working fine.

I tried CF 2.0 but my computer got so slow that I decided to go back to CF 1.47 again.
I'm using Nexus Amber Skin, Sygic Drive as GPS software and TripComputer Plug-in as main features.
Recently I organized the wiring behind the carputer and now it looks very "professional".

Some screens.
