i got my psu yesterday, but i forgot to get a p4 to p4 connector, and a 20 to 24 pin cable, so ill have to wait till they come to be able to finish.

i did finish the audio though, i followed the instructions to connect the monsoon, though i dont know if i need a ground loop isolator, with the laptop hooked up i didnt have a problem, though with the psu, it might be differant.

ill have to see when i get the 2 missing part to continue.

for those of you who have the monsoon and are thinking of conneting a car pc to it dispite some of the things i have read the sound is fairly good, although it could be louder, but its loud enough. i made my bod with 6 inputs, for a 5.1 system, but i disconnected the center channel, well because it was causing interfearance with the front channels, making them quieter. so im just useing the 4 inputs for now, and the all connect together, with a 5v voltage regualtor on the neg side of the left channel, its bleeding though to the right channel too, but only becase of the damn spliter, and the common ground in the 1/8 connectors. i hope ill be able to get some good grounds, and wont have any interfearance when the computer is on.

i was able to get one of the parts today, and did most of the instalation, id finish it, but id have to take it apart to install the last missing part, a 20 to 24 pin wire.

anyways here are some pics of the progress

the dash 1/2 taken apart, so i can run wires, and connect power = )

where im sticking the USB wireless card

everything but the glove box is install, so i can install critical part tomarrow, and finish up in 10 min = )

it works quite well, dispite some glitches, im working on fixing them

:glitches
- right and left channels cant be on at the same time, ground loop though y ( need something that allows voltage to only go one direction, not sure what its called )

-slight fuzzyness, might need a ground loop isloator

-posable overheating ( might move computer to trunk )

i was able to fix the problem with the ground loop causeing interfearance, and the left channel cutting the amp power, all with a ground loop isloator. i didnt need to put in a diod. i saw that other people with the monsoon had the isloator cut in after the 5-6v was indused, but i put it in befor, and i dont have any noise. also didnt have to "cut" anything.
