Walmart has a $30 hydrolic jack that's 4" and one that's 3.3" for about $60.

That's great, as long as you don't have a flat tire!

The cheap jack is small and comes in a case. It's actually 3 1/2" but looks more like 3.75 for some reason. But I have a pocket size multipurpose tool that fixes anything. It's a cell phone.

So how low does the stock tire jack go anyway? I've never used it.

gezz Jason, i didn't know that you had to carry blocks, i hope you've never had to use them before lol.

I acquired this yesterday.

no power supply and when i got it hooked up the backlight was out. with a quick reseating of the 4 backlight pins and a couple cold solder fixes i was up and running tonight. I've been thinking more and more about doing a rear seat install that came strait forward to the front seats at the same height and my floor in my trunk. I think it'd give the back of my car the look kind of like a magnum. I then was thinking about flush mounting the subs up towards the front seats (maybe angle them towards the back) because i know Jasons test show that there is a gain from them pointed towards the rear window in F-bodys. I was thinking i could take this monitor and motor it up just behind the subs, so it could go all the way in the new "floor" i would then stick my 3 amps across the spot where my box is now. If i did this i would also change my interior over to ebony (black) and get my neighbors black seats that he's replacing in his '06 Tiburon they are these (stock photo)

to show the insert pattern

Any thoughts? I'm not sure if i'll like this because i've been trying to keep it stock looking and i'm not sure if i want pull all this off with it still looking stock. Do you guys think it would look out of place with the back all one height or help with the flow and making it hard to tell it didn't come like that? I guess i just have too many ideas rolling around in my head

I use them all the time. It's no big deal. Some tire alignment racks are too steep so I use them there. The lifts that have 4 arms I used to have to drive all 4 tires onto one block each to get the arms under it. If you get a flat at home where you have a hydrualic jack I just stack 2 blocks and drive the flat tire onto them. Even with the factory jack you can drive onto a block or two to speed up the lifting as you don't have to crank on the jack forever to get it high enough. They come in very handy. I just cut a 2x4 into 4 18" long pieces and then cut the end at a 45* angle.

I don't want to get too far off topic here.

no ones interested in giving me their suggestions.... lol oh well

Right now i'm in the process of switching over to Linux from Windows because i believe there is so much to gain in the future from Linux. With this I'll be doing a upgrade on my motherboard and cpu. Right now i have it running on my desk and I hope to get the latest version of nghost running and maybe within the next week make the switch.
I still need to find a Driver for my x-box controller and a hotkeys program.

Ubuntu 7.01 Feisty - OS
nghost - Frontend

Dell Gx60 - Motherboard
2.0Ghz Celeron - CPU
512mb - Ram
laptop tray load cd drive for rear

I'm thinking about taking out the back seat and making and enclosure to take up the whole rear seat from side to side and make it appear to be a 2 seater. I'd make the box flush with the floor just above the gas tank (where my box is sitting) With this design i could flush mount everything and have it look very plain and OEM (with any luck).

was this a better explanation? i could barely read what i wrote before lol

When you showed a picture of a different back seat I assumed you were wanting to install it in your car. Why did you show that picture? The front seats look pretty good from that Tiburon. Since you have a camaro your seats don't have the big side bolsters the TA's do so I imagine it would be a big improvement as far as keeping you in place.

Once you move the subs to the back seat area you lose a lot of output. Now if you put them in the far rear area the output would really good. Do you want it to look something like this?

haha thats exactly what i was thinking (design wise) I remember reading in your thread about sub placement so i would have to decide where exactly i want everything and if i want to change out my 1 sub for something else now. I showed the rear seat so that you could see the insert pattern better. I wish i could get his rear seat also that'd look great ( with work lol)

What's he doing, adding sport seats to his car? Man, the factory one looks real good. If you can get them and they fit it would be fairly easy to have the stock rear seat redone to match the fronts. Our rear seats are very specific to our cars so I doubt the Tiburons would fit in the first place.

Can you put the sub's flush in the rear floor portion? I bet you one sub in the rear will get louder than 2 in the rear seat area. The whole top portion in front of the gas tank could have the amps flushed. You could then have removable panels or even motorized lids to show off the goods. I see a lot of cars with stereo gear built into a false floor. It's very stealth, durable and functional if you need to haul something.

He's getting Ractive sport seats. I'll have to look into finding some material to match the fronts to redo the rears otherwise what you've described is what i'd like to do. I'm still not i'll then pry just get one of the t-top bags that came in the 3rd gen f-bodys and have that on the false floor when i need to use it. i'm not sure how i would finish the part in the rear seats to that it flows and doesn't look like it just fell off.

edit: if i'm going to go thru all this work i think i'll get 2 SQ subs and find another 9102d to power my second one. I'd also like to either repaint my grey paneling dark grey or ebony. or just get all new ebony panel (i'll pry do this) what do you think? I think a red and black interior in a black car would look awesome

Red face

Well i need a new battery as mines dying I think I'm also going to get a deep cycle for the system and have a solenoid on it's power wire that is controlled by the ignition. I'll make a spot for it in my rear seat install, which the ideas are coming together for in my box fabrication thread (link in last post ) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
