Great!!!
What a great idea on separating the faceplate from the radio, It looks awesome.
you see, for me the flush mount look makes it look sharp and factory installed, It comes to my mind that maybe I could had use the same idea when I was on the process of installation of my rig.
compliments to you it looks very clean.
Here is the link to my project so you can see what I'm talking about.

Cool
I love how you seperated the faceplate, I never would have thought of that! Excellent installation, looks very professional. What is the camera facing the cabin for?

That belongs to Super_dave's car. Not sporty_drew.

Thanks SoloCon
I ended up getting a Pioneer DEQ-7600, it should be on its way tomorrow
I decided on getting the Pioneer for now because I still need to get my:
~ gps (both software and hardware)
~ amp for fronts
~ new fronts
~ new touchscreen overlay
These are the things I'm going to be doing in the next few weeks. This past weekend i ran 14 guage from the hatch to the front doors for when i get my amp. If anyone finds a Kenwood 2 or 4 channel amp for a good price let me know (it must be the 06 model and match my sub amps style)

Well i ordered my Kenwood 7202 yesterday, i also ordered some colored usb cables that light up to go in when i make a plexi cutout in my computer cover. I'm going to order a couple fans to put in it too. I've found another Dell gx150 for my electronics and have decided that i'm going to build a self for them that will look somewhat like this (from narandomsortofw install)

I received my usb cables and amp today. I got the amp installed and it makes my fronts sound 100 times better. I can't wait to get new components. I will get pictures up tomorrow when i receive the processor and get it put in. Right now I'm also redoing the bezel because there were a few spots i wasn't happy with. As of now I'm looking for parts for my controlling pc and my gps hardware and software, but until tomorrow.....

Don't hate... lol
I was debating on what i wanted to do for paint for the reworked bezel with processor in (which isn't lined up in the pics) and i decided to just go all out and do a "wild" color for the bezel.. heres that i ended up with. keep in mind it is darker than it appears.....
I know alot of people arn't going to like it, but it is my car and i want something that stands out. I plan to also do these pieces along with the speaker covers.
Well i got my amp mounted
I'm currently in the process of selling my L7 and I've decided on either the G5 or a Type X. Whichever one i get I'm going to fiberglass a box with it mounted regularly and have the amps countersunk on either side of it (will also be painted orange to match).

Well i got off work Friday and came home to get ready to go out of town for the weekend and low and behold my drivers door wouldn't open... Turns out that i broke a plastic piece in the part that moves the lock over the bolt. I had to tear the door panel halfway off while the door was stuck shut just to see what was wrong. I will be getting a new piece this week to see how is works so i can get the old one to open the door (the bolts are on the jam part of the door). Oh well, at least i can look for new interior parts while at the junk yard (i'm wanting a Firebird dash).
On a happier note i did make it out of town (just had to dukes of hazard it thru the t-tops all weekend lol) and the computer worked great for the 250 miles
Tonight i worked on my skin some more because i really need to get it wrapped up because i'm starting a pc install in a friends car and he wants me to design him a skin by the end of this month when we hit up our first show.

Man, that's some bad luck with the door. Maybe you can post a pic of what broke for future reference. I've never heard of this happening before.
The 2 amps look cool, but the wires detract a little.

I'll post pics as soon as i can find a new one.. parts store wont sell them, i have to get one from a dealer or a junk yard and i've had no luck with my junk yards..
I can't decide what to do with the wires, i'm going to wait until i get my beauty cover made, which will be this week.
On a side note i have a car show at the end of this month that i'm planning on attending. I hope people "like" my car..

well i found a latch, but it wont be here till Monday or so. that means i wont be getting any of the work that i want to get done finished. but i have had some time to decide what i want done before the show
~ black headlights and turnsignals
~ put slot load dvd drive in drivers sun visor
~ Paint speaker grills
~ make sub box beauty panel
~ recarpet rear deck
~ fix bezel to my liking (working on it as we speak)
~ move drivers window switch and lock to cup holder area in center console
~ flush the bezels for the door handles to get rid of switch holes and air brush the camaro logo in place of the switches with pinstriping where the switch outline was.
This is what i would like to get done but pry wont
~ Have a 2nd 7 or 8 inch ts slid down from where the glove box is (via a cd drive)
~ mount the ac controls above of below the screen
both of which will be mounted in a glove box I'm ordering that way they will be flush mounted when the glove box is closed.

Have you thought about a fat set of Torque Thrust II rims for the car shows? It would make your car look a lot meaner.

I'm not sure what they look like. I've been thinking about getting some 18 inch black rims with a chrome lip, I'd like to have a bit of a deep dish. I've been working on a design for a way to hold a couple monitors in the trunk. I've come up with this to put in between the trunk arm supports.

The outside logos will be etched in plexi (so no color) while the middle white area will be a cutout for when the hatch is down to clear the sub magnet.
I'm collecting pieces for the second computer right now, and my door latch should be here tomorrow so i need to find a way to open the door...
