Entirely possible I initially missed it, but I could have sworn I scoured this entire site and couldn’t find drivers. No matter, now!
This is most excellent, and very much appreciate the pointer regarding driver locale. I actually was a bit dubious regarding there even being Mac OS 10 drivers at all, so this really kicks arse!
Next element of marked difficulty: Locating a scan converter that,
a. Doesn’t suck
b. Doesn’t break the barrier of being “Indecently Expensive” (< $100, in my book)
A difficult endeavor...
Thanks again for the info!

I was wondering...would you happen to know if this may work on Toyota/Lexus OEM Nav Touch Screens?

Nevermind, I figured it out and did not brake anything.
Get this, previous owner left a 4 gauge power wire running to battery

navigation screen in TL 07 is cracked
Guys,
I know it could be the wrong place to post this question, but I've figured there could definitely be some people who might give me some valuable advice. My navigation screen on TL '07 is cracked by accident. Everything works, all functions are fine, I can see the screen and can control everything with buttons, but touchscreen obviously doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions on where I can get the replacement screen only (as dealership wants to replace the whole system-and it costs $2K+ which I don't want to go for as an option) or if there are any other solutions that would allow me to minimize the costs?
Thank you in advance for all of your responses.
Leo.

Depends on if the touchscreen is cracked or the LCD is cracked. If there are no display issues at all (dark/light spots, bleeding color, misplaced colors) then it is likely that only the touchscreen is cracked.
The first posts in this thread seem to indicate that the touchscreen used is a standard 4-wire resistive touchscreen (the OP even connects it to a USB controller and it works). If that is the case, then your challenge will be to find that particular touchscreen OR another 4 wire touchscreen with a cable long enough to reach the connector on the nav unit. If you haven't worked with the FFC (flat flexible cable) that is used to connect touchscreens before, you should know that it is not something that can be extended or bent easily, so finding a touchscreen where the FFC exits in or near the stock location would be of paramount importance.
I think you could certainly accomplish this if you don't mind doing a bit of work and research...sure beats paying $2K+ for a <$50 part.
Good luck.

Nice!!... I am looking at doing this myself.
I have an 05 Acura TL Non-Navi
At the moment I am trying to determine what would be the best route to take. Doing alot of research and reading all the threads I find regarding the top both here and on AcuraZine. Thus far I have come up with two options.
Option 1: Use a stock nav touch screen and do pretty much the same setup as Met.
For this option I would want to completely remove the two HVAC LCDs that display the Temp/Fan and Radio. However I have yet to find anything showing that it's possible to get everything that displays on those LCDs to display else where. I know that with the stock screen hooked up and using the navi clock lcd you can transfer the Temp/Fan read out. This would leave me without the display for the radio. Question: Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer the radio display to the a stock touch screen without having the entire nav system? Option 2: Use an aftermarket touch screen.
This would require me to relocate the HVAC LCDs down infront of the shifter (really don't want to do this but I don't see another option.) The upside here is that I could probably go up to an 8" screen.

Thank you very much for your reply, parksgm. Yes, the LCD screen is OK as I can see everything in the same color as it used to be, no bleeding colors or dark spots anywhere, just cracks. I wonder if I can find this particular screen at some shop maybe, who sells Acura's touchscreens only (as parts). Also, do you know by any chance, who is the maker of Acura nav screens? Is it Alpine by any chance? Once I know the real manufacturer, I could try contacting them directly and see how much they charge for the touchscreen only. But I will definitely research more on that as I'm not in rush to fix it-it works fine, just I want to get rid of this problem eventually and not pay $2K+, which is ridiculous.
Thank you again and I appreciate your response.
Leo.

Sunlight readability?
Totally loved your install!! I had believed the resolution (or the lack thereof) would naje IEN BAV screens unsuitable for a CARPC display, but from your pics, it doesn't look bad at all!
I am planning the next project for my wife's Camry, which doesn't have a NAV now. But this has got me thinking about getting a Toyota or even Acura NAV unit and working with it.
How is the sunlight readability of the display? I am not sure if you have seen standard Lilliput or Xenarc installs, but if you have, how would you compare the OEM screen against those? I am guessing the OEM screens have very good sunlight readability (even better than the transflective LCDs for sale).

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised myself with how great the picture looked on the OEM display.
It is sometimes difficult to see the display when the sun hits the screen right (wrong?). But it also depends on what is being displayed at the time. I have a darker skin that I'm using with Roadrunner, which I think makes it less readable in direct sunlight.
I have not seen any other displays such as liliput of xenarc, so I can't compare.
Good luck with your install, it's well worth the effort.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Maybe I'll go into a dealership to see how the OEM LCD fares with my old Lilliput

Question to Met
Met, did you use the 9 pin RGB connector on the Scan Do for the output to the screen?
I have a Scan Do 800 and want to connect it to a Mazda Pop up screen. I am unsure of the pinouts on the RGB connector on the Scan Do. What I have come up with so far is:
Pin 2 Ground
Pin 3 Red
Pin 4 Green
Pin 5 Blue
Pin 7 Composite Sync
Pin 8 Ground (Sync)
Is this the pinout you used?
Also my unit did not come with the cable that connects the computer to scan converter and I will make my own. Do you know the pinouts from the 15 pin vga connector to the dual row 15 pin connector. Any help would be appreciated.

"How did you power the Scan Do 800?" The scan do requires a 5V input. I purchased a connector at radio shack, soldered wires to the connector and will run that off the 5v rail on the pc's power supply. I have not connected the scan do to a pc yet but using the test mode on the front panel that outputs color bars to the tv the unit draws 1A at 5V so 5 watts.

Got it sorted out
My rgb pinouts in the previous post did not work ... figured it out! Here are two pictures that show the difference between the rca composite and the RGBs connection to my nav screen.
The best image is with the RGBs. The viewing angle of my pictures was not the best and in real life it looks even better. I'm happy with the results. The skin for Roadrunner I am going to use is much larger than a full web page and should look great.
