sweet. i was just quoted $100 bucks for an audio shop to make a bezel and mount it up top and another $100 to epoxy, bondo the hvac to the sunglass holder.
Are these good prices?

The price for the bezel is good, but what will the quality be like. Also you shouldn't need to epoxy the hvac, but moving it maybe more difficult with the cables needing extending.

Hello,
I have a BMW E36 too and I've found a good way to install your car PC.
Under the dashboard at the passenger side you have room to install the motherboard, power supply etc.
You won't see a thing. I rearranged some cables (I put them more up, there was empty space).
Now I have +/- 12cm height to put the motherboard.
Pictures:

Some cable jam

more cables

This was after

This was before
As you can see, a lot more space.
Now I put back the locker and between the locker and the "bottem" I have +/- 12cm of height. Which is enough to put the motherboard etc.
Now I can just put the cables (vga etc) to the radio DIN.
This is a better way than putting your PC behind a seat or in the boot of the car.

I have the set up you do now, with the Lilliput in front of the shifter. I like it there. I find that it's really convienient for me to push the buttons on the touch screen since my hand is right there on the shifter all the time.
Originally I wanted to put it up tob, but now I wouldn't want it there. I like it down low.
