Oh, also worth mentioning is I have a HP desktop DVD-ROM/CRRW drive in the tower in the trunk. Just for fun we put a DVD in when I took the wife and kids for the "official" test drive. Ran it for a good 20 minutes or so through all sorts of highway and city bumps, not a single skip... cool!!

How come you didn't take the time to sand it better?

Because by the time the problem with the paint happened I already had the Xenarc and gauges glued down. in order to do the full sanding necessary I would have had to remove them, sand, then re-glue, and I was under a deadline to get the car drivable again quickly...

That is one of the best consoles i've seen fabricated IMO, the two-tone was a great idea. Hopefully you'll decide to perfect it.

Thanks! Well, the car itself isn't much to look at so I'm not overly concerned right at the moment. Eventually I hope to add new carpet, when I have to gut the interior to install the carpet, who knows what else I might do.

Sorry dude, I never drew anything up, just mocked it with cardboard then traced over to MDF. I sandwiched two MDF sheets together so that I could cut both side pieces at the same time and ensure they matched.. I could probably give you measurements of the face of the console, but the sides have a few odd angles that would be hard to measure now that its installed.

The cardboard mockup wasn't that difficult though, just bend, cut, and tape until you have a shape you like. Then break it down into front, back, face, and sides the trace onto MDF...
