There is no radio, only an amp. I am just trying to find out what the best place to install it is. I haven't tried F8 yet.

I ended up being able to do a recovery install. At first, it wasn't an option, but then I went to the console, and did away with the boot.ini. When it rebooted, I had given up, and was going to do a brand new install, and low and behold, the option for recovery was there! After I got the system up, the USB hub would be powerd up. The keyboard is enabled in the BIOS, and works until windows fully loads to the welcome screen, and then I saw the hub deactivate. I had to plug in a PS/2 keyboard, and then break out of the hibernation, to a fresh boot. When Windows came up, it found all my USB devices, and all was well with the world! Now all I have to do is figure out my ground loop/altenator whine issues.

Good, the next thing I was going to tell you to try was to recover windows...might wanna run a scandisk on that drive. Boot sectors don't just disappear for no reason.

I think it was a hardware change that did me in. I destroyed the boot.ini file on purpose, so I could recover.

Thanks man. So how many MP3's do we have around here besides mine? There were only 1500 made.

Ok, so here are some things I noticed. When I mute the carputer sound, I still have the whine. When I move the mouse, maximize, and minimize application windows, I get distinct noise with each action. Any ideas on where I should start troubleshooting? I have a GLI from Install Edge, and it has two brown wires sticking out of it. Are those both grounds? Here is a picture:

I was also thinking today, that the whine I am hearing now, only really was prevalent in my old laptop/docking station project only when the Sirius Tuner was not muted. On my old carputer setup, this whine wasn't there. I don't have my Sirius Tuner hooked up right now to my new setup, and the whine is still there. Does this help narrow it down?

My 700IDT started loosing color again. After some testing, I took it apart, and low and behold the ribbon cable was broken again. This is the third time....

Ok, I got the screen working again yesterday. Today I woke up early, and got my touch screen working again after almost 2 years. I had given up. The touchkit drivers out on the Xenarc website do not work for my 700IDT touch screen. I lost the original CD that came with my screen that had drivers from a company called Liyitec. So this morning, I went looking for the driver, and found it here. My touchscreen is the URTC type, so I downloaded the driver from 03/09/2005, and it works like a champ!

Why do you say that? The reason I had issues was that I had reloaded Windows XP on my original carputer setup, and had lost the driver CD. The lightbulb came on a few days ago, as to how to solve this problem. I had gotten used to not having a touchscreen, but so good to have it back!!

So, is the whine still there? I am thinking your monitor needs to be seperately regrounded...Is it hard-wired into the car, or do you plug it into the cig. lighter?
