Dual soundcard with Winamp 3??

Is there a way to have 2 winamp shortcuts so that each has a different soundcard as the one it uses?? Cos, I have tried 2 soundcards, and played 2 mp3s at once, b ut I am pretty sure that when I close it, and re-open winamp so it is running twice, both winamps will use teh same soundcard.. any ideas??

I'm not sure if that would work...Wouldn't they share the same registry settings?

There's gotta' be a plugin for this...

I havent ventured to really use the final release of 3 yet, but i had 2.xx installed in multiple places with different settings (ie one for me to listen to, one to stream from, etc) and never had a problem.

Registry isn't a problem Aaron - Winamp doesn't use the registry for anything but it's uninstaller location. Everything else is kept in an INI folder in the same location as that copy of winamp. This makes multiple copies easy. But, MP3KID, why do you want to run multiple copies with multiple cards? Do you specifically want two separate sources of music? If so then ignore the rest of this post. Otherwise, why not use the direct sound output to mix the output from two simultaneous copies of winamp?

Just a thought.

Andrew

after installing 2 winamps-in different folers-you go to each preferences and configure the playback--choose the correct sound card. i have used this in my dance club on a computer with a dj mixing program. one for output, the other for headphones. its been awhie since i did this-forgot exactly where it is.

when you are in winamp go to preferences and then plugins, then wavout. there you will be able to select which card for playback
