Joost internet TV

Hey guys, I've been a lurker here for a long time and am in the middle of a build wich I will post once I've got my screen installed. I haven't posted before because I haven't had anything to contribute until now.

I'm in on a beta for Joost internet TV. There are many internet TV sites but what made me think Joost would be great for the mp3car community is it's client software already seems perfect for a touch screen. I'll post a Screenshot below. I would think integration would be easy for frontends.

I have 999 invites for the Joost beta. If you would like an invite let me know. I will need your email address so if you don't feel comfortable posting the email in the thread send me a PM. I'll try to get the invites out asap.

I hear ya. The term FREE tv has got to be interpreted loosely. There's no such thing as a free lunch, etc. I have not received spam emails yet from them, but then again they may wait til after beta. If it does happen I'll just adjust my spam filter accordingly.

With that said, I think the first poster on DIGG is a little paranoid. When I read the EULA I wasn't surprised by anything. It's pretty much what I expected from a internet tv client. I guess we'll have to play with it and see.

Spyware threat aside, how is it running for everyone?
On my laptop that will be my carpc, I have 1.5mhz Pentium M and 512mb ram.
The tvprunner.exe process averages about 70% CPU usage and 90-100mb memory. Ouch.
It does seem to run pretty smoothly however.

Invites sent. Again, pm me your email for the invite. I have to put the emails into Joost for it to send you the invite.

Personally I'm experiencing 'lag' on my laptop. I wish there was better advanced settings where you could tweak buffering, quality, size etc.
