Does anyone have a copy of comfoolery? I can't seem to find it anywhere and all i hear is good things about it.

Also, if i cant find comfoolery is there any other software anyone could recommend?

Also, for using comfoolery or any other serial to tcp/ip converter do you need an online connection? I have never used these types of software, but from what i was reading i wasn't sure.. I wouldn't think so though.

I will be getting my dsatx and brianstem this week so am very eager to test everyting.

Thanks for the help everyone, i really appreciate it.

Blair

You dont need a net connection. You use your own pc (IP Address:127.0.0.1 tells the pc to send to itself). Comfoolery is impossible to find without the nag screen . Ive looked at alternatives, but comfoolery seems to be the best and cheapest. Its simple and does whats needed. Would be better if it didnt need TCP at all.. but I cant code, so I cant change that

Hey guys, I should be able to release the new DS-ATX interface later today. This is just a standard Windows GUI that should show off the features of the SDK. I should be able to create Digimod for this in the next couple of days, and then I'll take a look at adding a RR interface as well.

When I release it, could someone take a look at the information displayed and tell me if there is any more information they would like displayed? Or if any of the descriptions do not make sense to them? I'd like to make this as easy as possible to work with.

Chris

Hey, I still have a little left to do on the interface but it's almost complete. I'll do my final testing tomarrow morning and then post it. I really need to make sure that the way I am auto detecting the DS-ATX works with everyone elses models. So please let me know if there are any failures.

I plan on adding more error checking and intellisense documentation next but it is pretty clear to use for now.

Well, the app is done and it is definitly a beta. I don't like how long it takes to do the auto detection, so I will be changing the code to use a more elegant design. I was going to use a friends website to post the file, but he doesn't have it anymore. Anyone know where I can post it up?

The descriptions for each parameter were straight from the manual. I think I'll need to lookup more information to get a better description of some of these as I don't know what every parameter does. Also, I didn't display the read-only queries because you get most of them on the first tab. The only thing you don't get is the current versions on the board. I'll add those later.

P.S. PM me and I can send you the application.

Thanks,
Chris

I offer to you my Web space! My DSATX I kept finite now and installed. I would like to test it also very gladly. Is it to be merged possible also in Centrafuse??

yeah, I designed it so it could be put into any interface. I'll need to learn how Centrafuse does its plugins but it should be pretty easy since Centrafuse is also a .NET app. I plan on making a Street Deck digimod first, then work on a RR plugin, and then I'll work on a Centrafuse one. Depending on how much time I get, I'm going to guess it'll be 3-5 weeks before I get them done.

This is just a winapp to test the interface. Also to get feedback.

MarcelIP : Nice plugin, you and I should get together and put our plugins together. PM me and we'll setup some time. I'm really bad at making things look flashy and have some style, but I can give you the info to make your plugin work.

Is correct, that is not not my development. I would like to have only this Plugin and also tester be. Would be beautiful if it soon becomes finished.

I finished another version of the code. I added alot of Intellisense coding for the .NET guys. I also changed the way it communicates with the DS-ATX through the serial port. I'll be running tests until it starts raining here. I'll send this version out to those who already requested it.

Next I will test the COM Interoperability by creating a small test web page, it should use all the same code that will be used for a RR / Flash plugin version.

Well, my DLL is finally done. the last test session I did showed a couple of annoyances I wanted to get rid of but the DS-ATX updates correctly. I made the last changes to get rid of those annoyances tonight and I will do a little testing in the morning to make sure I didn't break anything. My friend is letting me use his webpage to put the file on so I'll post that tomarrow after I get the login information.

I tried putting in alot of XML commenting so it would show up under intellisense but there is still alot more I can add to make sure everything is clear. I also would like to add the ability to not rely on the autodetect feature by specifying the COM port. These are just a couple things I'd like to fix up in the near future. I think I am going to start working on a Digimod before I get to those features. Depends on the responses from you guys.

A digimod is a plugin for StreetDeck. I should be able to create a plugin for RR and Centrafuse as well.
