since i only have a Palm IIIxe i have used the last link, for the Jukebox 0.81. I don't like that app because of the layout. I prefer PalmAmp and PalmMMC, they too connect via a serial cable to your com port. Those other links are for the Pocket PC, and now i wish i had one of those since some of them use wireless lan or even bluetooth technology. I've found links where some people have made RF two way transmitters for there older Palms like mine. I guess it just goes to show there is a big following in the PDA scene and music lovers.

Try VNC to see your desktop on your Palm, also requires Mocha PPP. ! hope this helps.

I have Iremote. It works very well. You can interface by 802.11, bluetooth, usb, serial, or ethernet.

I only use it at home however, unless you had your PocketPC mounted I think it would be to distracting to use it in the car.

Well my opinion is totally biased, but I personally use RemoteAmp:

I definitely agree with flessan though, if you were to use this in your car it would need to be mounted and I'd only use the hardware button functions. Trying to tap something with the stylus while driving could be a bit tricky.

Update: Missed your second question. You can also use VNC with a Pocket PC to remote control all desktop functions, or use Terminal Services if you have Win 2K Server or XP Pro. My personal preference is to go with Terminal Services but VNC definitely gets the job done.

As for how well all this stuff works, it actually works quite well. The things you can do with a Pocket PC anymore continues to amaze me.
