What Im Making (NO LAUGHING)

This is what I am currently working on.

This is for a very specific enviroment. It is aimed at people with Touchscreens and high-quality LCD monitors.

I acutally made the size to fit a Xenarc, as that is what I am planning on using it on.

I made the buttons big (and ugly) so they would be easily accessible via Touch Screen.

What it does so far:
(Typical stuff)
It'll Boot Winamp, using Arby's awesome WinAmp skin. That winamp skin will be great also for touch-screens.
Boots the DVD Player (WinDVD)

Boots GPS Software

Rips CDs. I actually found a winamp plugin to Rip CDs, so the Rip CD button is more like just copy whatever is on the CD to the harddrive (videos, mpegs, mp3s, anything)

System utils (next screen shot)

The Browse Music and Browse Videos opens a browser screen, which I have not taken a screenshot of, because I am still messing with them so they are really really ugly. But they work really well. You can pick a load of songs, and it makes a temporary playlist and loads winamp with that playlist. You can enqueue songs, and create your own playlists.

The about button, obviously, shows about the program.

Note: This is all stuff that is in it, and working. I am just thinking of things.

I've been working on this for less than 12 hours, so I'm sure it will change a whole lot. But the target audicence is touch-screen users.

Oh yeh, I love the Beatles, can you tell? My background is them performing on Ed Sullivan. The buttons, some are Beatles, one is my girlfriend, the others are me and my dog. I just like pictures of Eyes, and i ran out of pictures so i got desparate.

Anyways. Dont laugh, its all fun. Maybe someone would wnat to use this someday. When I get furthuur a long, and its not such a piece of trash, I will happily disitrubte the sourcecode to anyone who wnats to modify it for their own tastes.

And.. I load WinAmp, and Windows Media Player to handle playing .mp3s and movies, repescitvly. And WinDVD for DVD.

Yes, I could download the MP3 playing and AVI/MPEG playing things for my programming language, but I don't see the point in reinvinting the wheel. WinAmp has those beuatiful visual plugins, which Arby's amazing skin lets you see so perfectly, etc.

Why reinvent? Just circumvent!

hehe....the man puts 4 posts in his own thread concerning his software and this is the only thing anyone says...lol

No I think the screenshot looked great...after I piece my system together I will check out your software if it's up for download. Also, what are you writing it in? I am thinking of taking a refresher on programming...I went thru BASIC, Pascal, C++ in High school and I am rapidly losing all of what I was taught. I am 21 and haven't stepped foot in a classroom for a little while now.

I have taught myself Flash so I think maybe I will try to integrate my own front end with that as well...

We'll see...but good luck and hope to see more of what ya got!

Heya!

Thanks for the words on the screenshots.

And I keep a disposable camera on my desk, so nex time neighbor walks by I'll snap a pic and scan it.

Its programmed in VisualBasic.

I am a Delphi Programmer. Well, kinda, I mean I like Delphi a lot, but I haven't had a copy of it in YEARS. I have version 2.0 around here somewhere, but it sucks now. The only reason I had a newer version was the company i worked for (for about 3 months) pirated their copy to every employee (I left that place, too corrupt)

Anyways, I have a copy of VisualBasic because everyone in this computer class I took in college a few semesters ago got a copy of Visual Studio. I guess I could have put it in VisualC++, its pretty similar to Delphi, but oh well.

I'm finding VisualBasic to be a bit weak, I'm not really happy with some of the stuff I cant do.. But maybe i just dont remember much programming. But I'm getting around. I'm having to teach myself visual basic as I make this, but its not much to learn. I dunno.

What I dont see is where people pull the stuff out of their butts for the WinAPI calls, or whatever. But I just copy and paste baby!
