MZ-plugin line 1&2 troubles...

Hi,

Iīm currently working on my home mp3-player which has also a SEIKO 40x4 LCD (The LM-type). (basically the same as in the car.. now only to use with my home system...)
The computer this time is an old compaq deskpro 4000 with a pentium 166mmx and 3 old hdīs together ~ 9gb.
The LCD-connetion is ok, iīve checked this many times, and also LCDPRINT doesnīt give me an error and nicely displays all the test messages I send to the display, and itīs ok everytime.

But now, when I load winamp and using the Markus Zehnder -plugin (latest version) line 1&2 get all messed up. 3&4 are pretty ok except for the first character on the 3rd line. The characters that has to be displayed are actually displayed but theyīre pretty much ībouncingī a bit to the left and the right..

Iīve played for about 3 hours and almost changed everything about some timing and stuff, but even when I refresh the display only 1 x per second the problem still occurs, only the bouncing is very slow (1x/sec )
I donīt have a clue here because I can let LCDPRINT update the lcd like 10x/sec without a problem/glitch)

I even thought it might be a problem with the latest version so I switched back to an earlier version, but the problem is still there.

The comp is controlled via a hacked keyboard... (duh), but everything is ok here.

Oh yeah.. OS is win95 OSR 2 with BF FTP-server and WinVNC running in the Background.. but even switching them of didnīt solve the problem.

Anyone got a clue ?

Thanks in Advance !

Greetz,

Try other plugins. There is one called WinLCD that you can try. It's for parallel wired char LCD's only. you gotta mess with the ini file also.
Here is link to download it since the author homepage is not up anymore.

I have some info on other plugins for char LCDs on my website. Look under software.

I havenīt tried other plugins actually, I will do this.. but.

I would like to use the markus zehnder plugin because the output to the char.lcd is totally cutomizable (?), and it supports multiple playlists, and also can be used with albumlist..

But I will try other lcd plugins and lett you guys know how this goes...

Greetz,

Have you tried changing settings for your parallel port in the BIOS?

Stupid Software Bios

Hi,

Well, this is one strange bios..
1st.. it doesnīt īsitī on some chip or something., It resides in a small (21mb) partition on the harddrive..
2nd.. I thought Iīve checked all settings in the bios, but I couldnīt change anything else than the irq,dma and port-numbers.. I didnīt see anything about EPP/ECP or anything like that..
However, when I go to windows (control panel) it says that thereīs a ECP-printerport installed...

I donīt get it... lcdprint just fine.. but the best char.lcd.plugin wonīt work....
