Looking for new cell phone that works with Freefone or Phonecontrol

Hey guys I just bricked my T-Mobile SDA and I am now looking for a cell phone that is easy to setup with either Freefone or Phonecontrol. A smartphone would be nice but most important is I want to setup to work with RR.

Thanks for any suggestions.

i wouldnt advise buying a phone compatible with either.. phoco especially though considering its based on compatible phones from 3-4 years ago and he really hasnt updated anything. Freefone may be different but they're both using the same bluetooth stack which is what really needs to be updated to work with modern phone technologies.

Is there any other software out there to control your cell phone that works with RR?

not really.. i mean there's rrmobile but that went under some time ago. See the problem isnt rr or a lack of programs that support it the problem is that phone makers are coming out with there own "sub" protocols more and more.. making less use of the aged widcomm bluetooth stack which uses AT commands to communicate with the phone. I too would like a solution thats as easy as my older phone (motorola e815, but MUCH of the work to get that phone working i did myself)... but it doesnt seem likely a solution is coming anytime soon.

From Phoco's website:

PhoneControl.NET goes offline...
Hereby is announced that the development of PhoneControl.NET has been suspended.

The reason therefore is, amongst other things, the continously increasing support time and effort for such an application, which is primarily caused by the utilisation of 3rd party components but also through the incompatibility of new mobile phones.

Support for licensed users will be kept up until the end of March 2008.

The source code is not going to be released in any way. If you have serious interessts in the source code, write me an Email.

I'd like to thank all people who supported me in developing PhoneControl.NET.

You're not alone. I just started using PhoCo 4 months ago and paid the dues. He should release the code so people can continue where he left off. I even bought the FT0813 BT dongle (as recommended) and it works flawlessly with my V3.

Yea, I was in the middle of my trial version. I also have an E815 and it was working really well with Phoco. I guess I am SOL now. He won't sell anymore licenses so you can use it.

There must be something out there. Anyone work with the MS stack? Is it any good?

I thought I read about it awhile ago but it had some limitations. On my SDA I had a ton of problems setting up with phonecontrol and freefone. I had to find newest widcomm drives and change the rom on my phone before I could get it to work and even then it only kinda worked.
