It also caused my machine to blue screen at startup just as the logo was displayed, use msconfig and see if theres any trace of it starting up, from my understanding it loads well before windows starts to intercept the logo and replace it with your setting.

Something that Windoze is trying to render (a screen somewhere along the line) is hosed.
You can try re-creating a user profile that will reset display settings back to default...

Your experience (and other similar reports) are why I eschew Windoze customizers like Bootscreens or WindowBlinds.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

A new user account will generally make settings all to there defaults, providing you use that same acccount.

If you read the optimisation section, there is another way called minlogon, which will force everything back to default, cos it logs on with the system account, and will dramaticly improve your boot time, once you cleared the windows logo...

In MSconfig there should be an entry with something like /stardock/boot skin, tho if uninstalled it may have just left some registry data that may not appear in there

okay..so i tried searching for all the stardock files and i deleted them all. startup still took forever..then i created another account, to see if it would change or fix my problem...still nothing. it still took forever. any other ideas? besides system restore? since i installed then uninstalled that stardock program a long time ago.
