WMP aspect ratio and stretching???

Right, I've finally finished and installed my CarPC in my van. So it's now time for some slight software tweaking. The main problem I have is WMP and my Lilliput screen. If I set XP to 800 x 600, video looks fine, but text is a bit elongated. If I set it to a widescreen format, WMP doesn't 'stretch' the images as I have asked in my VB.net code....

eg.

axwindowsmediaplayer.stretchtofit=true

It also doesn't stretch to fit if I run WMP from the Start menu. WMP classic can 'Stretch to fit' any video it is given, so why can't WMP do this! I have looked all over the internet and there isn't a way of getting WMP to do it. Is there any soft of patch out there to make it do it, or will I just have to run my widescreen Lilliput 800x600?

Found the solution.

I use the K-lite codec pack which uses FFDShow for the video. In there you can set Resize & Aspect to 16:9 or whatever you want!

Hope this helps others
