New 800x480 and 800x600 skin added. This Canvas skin shows more of the flexibility of the skin system. While having a minimal look, the skin background and colors can easily be changed. All the buttons and text in this skin are drawn by the system and the background is the only image.

The 800x480 skin is set by default in this install, but you can easily switch to another skin by changing the CurrentState.xml file or change the look of the current skin by changing it's Skin.xml file.

More performance changes for media load and screen updating has been added.


Requirements:
Windows XP or Vista 32bit
Windows Media Player (RockCar uses your WMP library)
.NET 2.0 Runtime (free from Microsoft)

Uses WMP for the media library and album art. Both audio and video.
Install takes about 20 seconds.
Multi-language capable interface.
Skinable interface with themes so it is possible to change colors, etc without changing the whole skin.
Plugable interface so it is possible to create extended features.
External controls plugin interface that allows external controllers like joysticks and control knobs to interface with RockCar.
Flexible core engine that can be leveraged in plugins.

Plugins Included:
Head - Main control surface.
Media Selector - Selects media from the WMP library.
IE Browser - Internet Explorer web browser.
MapPoint - MapPoint interface with simple GPS tracking.
Info - Information screen about the system and current media.

Translations
English, German, Spanish, French, Russian and Japanese Translations Available
I used Babel Fish for the translations, so I apologize if any translations are incorrect. PM me if you would like to help out with translations.

Change the translation to the language you want by editing the GlobalOptions.xml file and changing the "Culture" to:

en English
de German
es Spanish
fr French
ja Japanese
ru Russian

Any progress on this? I have been playing around with this and i like that it uses WMP would probably use it if After a few updates such as

1. A way to build a playlist
2. Visualization option
3. resume song position after restart

I'll have a new update next week with a faster WMP library interface and support for transparent buttons in the skin.

The visualization is avalible in some of the skins and can be switched to fullscreen.
The playlists can be built in WMP and then selected from the frontend
Resume works sometimes in the current release, but will be fixed next week in the next.

I'm also working on a skin editor that will be made avalible next week.

well i dl'd this and installed it and it wont run, it shows running in my program manager but nothing comes up on the screen, anyone have any ideas?

Do you have anything in your WMP library? What OS,WMP, etc. are you running?

You can also check the logs folder for any errors/messages.

running wmp11, have xp and i have a bunch in my wmp library. I uninstalled it and i am going to try dl it again.

Attached is an update. I've not tested it thoroughly, but it should load much faster for you. Next official alpha release is next week.

I'm still working on the skin builder, but some updates have also been done to the front end. You can run the skin builder and get an idea of how it works. The setup includes the front end and skin builder.
