Talking You bet.

I got it earlier today...

Let me just say that it is amazing. All the wild and amazing claims are true. So far even the alpha release has been rock stable (although i have heard there have been problems) and it works with Winamp 3 skins. I love that it has the Winamp 2 style playlist. If you haven't yet, check it out.

Loads faster than winamp3 which is definite plus. I get a few errors when trying to load a modded Arbys skin and some virtual function error when exiting.

Has anyone got Arby's skin working on it yet?

If I can get it working, I think I will switch over in my carpc. The quick start time is worth the few bugs.

I don't think so.... Alpha is alpha. I'm suprised it's actually on the net. Wait till beta at least before you judge it.

stkdidy ntshidy:

Some of the maki functions are still unimplemented(ie-metadata) and some components have been removed or changed (media library). You can edit the scripts in the skin to get it working again using alternate functions or disabling unimplemented components.

I had to modify Arby's skin to get it working, but MatchStick skin worked with no changes. It just depends on what function and components the scripts use.

I can't wait for the next release. It seems very promising. I love the free form skins, which is why I use winamp3. But winamp3 has a significant load time delay. The winamp5 alpha does not. I hope this isn't just because they left the slow features unimplemented...
