DSP Plugin for WinAmp

Hi all

Does anyone know about DSP plugin for time correction/delay for the channels,like real hardware DSP units do? I need it to match the distance between front/center/sub in my car.

I saw some DirectX plugins that can do it,but they only work with CoolEdit and similar programs.Is there any way to integrate DirectX plugins in WinAmp?

Yes, I think theres a winamp plugin that allows direct x plugins to to be used with winamp. I remember seeing it somewhere... search and you will find.

When you "play" an mp3, you're processing a "file" through the computer system, and so, software "modifiers" can be active.

When you play a CD, the entire function of the computer, is that of a remote control. The audio is being "processed" within the CD player itself, and being routed to the sound card through a separate audio cable. There's no data going through the computer buss at all, and consequently, no software can process that data. (in fact, its not data at all, but a pure line-level audio signal just like what would flow between a cassette deck and amplifier.)

My CD has no audio cable going to sound card,because I prefer the sound card to do the D/A convertion instead of CD.The music is going through the IDE cable,as data.That's the whole point of a problem.

Dima; are you saying that you can put a regular commercial CD in your CD tray, play it using Winamp, and hear the music? If so, this goes against everything I know about Winamp and CD's. Generally, Winamp simply "plays" the audio data through the audio cable, (that you say isn't there). Unless your using some unusual plug-in, I don't think Winamp itself, has any way to extract the audio data through the IDE cable.

But, I could be wrong . . .

I'm not using any special plugins,just winamp 2.92.Try to disconnect your audio cable and see how winamp keep playing the music

.The music goes through audio cable only when you play it from CD player itself,when you press the "play" button on it.

Some versions of windows (2k & XP?) have the option to enable digital audio under the device properties. This lets you remove the cable and transmit the data through the standard IDE cable. Could be that you need a drive that's compatible, though.
