EAC users: Can it create a folder for each CD?

I just started using EAC to convert my cd collection to mp3 and all the songs are dumped in the same folder! So, when I am done, all 400 cd's worth of songs will be in the same folder...what a mess. I have used other programs like Roxio that creates a folder for each CD and puts the songs in that folder.

Can EAC create a folder for each CD, or do you guys just put all songs together?

Yes, you can

In EAC options (i think..i don't have it on my pc in front of me) there is a thing for filename.

Put in the filename, such as %A\%B\%A - %B - %N - %T

(%B is what I have put for album, cos i can't remember

)

That will set up the filename as:

Artist\Album\Artist - Album - Track Number - Title

What encoder are you using? If your using lame, make sure your using 3.90.3, the -Z is now built in to the presets, much better sounding.

(You should be using lame anyway :})

Yes, I am using lame, but not sure what version. I'll check after work today. You say the new version is "Much better sounding" What exactly is different with the new version, and why would it sound better than an older version?

the releases before 3.90.3, many people (myself included) considered the --alt-preset standard switch to be the best method for compression, but they also had another switch -Z (i forgot its technical designation) that improved quality. It was relatively new, so i dont think they built it into the preset for testing purposed. As of the new rlease candidate they have included the -Z switch into the presets. Making the new -alt-preset standard (APS) sound just as good as the old -alt-preset extreme (APX, generally just had the low bitrate threshold higher) without adding any real size to it. For mp3 fanatic such as myself, this is a big deal :} (as im wary switching to the losless flac codec).
