I just received an email from them confirming the 99Euro price. This is really exciting as they seem to sell all the parts needed for audio hook-up and even parktronic!

I asked them a bunch of questions. I will keep everyone posted. Here is a copy of their email:

Quote:
Hello,

First of all I would like to thank you for your interest and trust in our products and the company as a whole.

We are happy to announce that CNS Maestro software is available for sale worldwide at the price of 99 Euro.

CNS Maestro software depends on some certain hardware, so in order to fully profit of Maestro’s functionality you will need the following hardware components:

1. CNS Vehicle Integration Board

CNS Vehicle Integration Board takes care of the power management of the whole system – powering up, shutting down, etc. In order to reduce the risk of possible battery exhaustion, it constantly monitors its status. It also integrates with the original audio system of the vehicle. It takes care of Maestro’s day/night mode automatic switching. It is equipped with a GPS receiver (optional).

2. FM tuner module, based on Gemtek PCI PR 103

3. TV tuner module, based on Nogatech Nt1004 (currently known as Zoran)

4. Touch screen monitor (optional) – CNS Maestro software supports a mouse, but we suggest installing a touch screen monitor of a maximum comfort.

We offer various design schemes (depending on vehicle’s brand, model, etc). We also design special/personal schemes (a.k.a. skins) on request.

If you are interested in purchasing CNS Maestro, or the whole bundle (CNS Maestro + CNS Vehicle Integration Board (GPS receiver is optional) + FM tuner module + TV tuner module) and a touch screen monitor, please let me know and I will provide you with CNS bank details.

I wonder will it work with any tuner or TV card?

Would they do a breakdown cost for us?

Well I have no hardware programming skills, but with a descent sdk, or FAQ on Bluetooth and what functions are availible, I'd be able to hack something together... I'd like to get with the phone people, and then with the media engine programmers and maybe write a little plugin to Media Engine that does what we need... sort of like what happend with the D-100 Radio Module...

Looks like works for me

http://www.sonyericsson.com/develope...ava/p_java.jsp

has some very interesting info on their SDK for their phones...

Can Media Engine ocx's.. run Java Virtual Machine code ?? Or Can you integrate C++ code ?? since Visual basic would require a seperate package that would sell for no less than $600.00 something I'd be hesitant to shell out for something I can write in C++ or Java... since we're not talking about writing Tiger Woods Golf for the Ericson Phone, and selling it @ $25.00 a pop...

What about it ?

No, this is not an offer to write code for everything and anything, besides the sony people seem to have a SDK (Software Dev. Kit) handy for their hardware, and have done most of the leg work on that, so that I'd just have to figure out how to make it dial via the bluetooth commands, and send the audio wireless to the PC... but the radio would be a whole other ballgame.. and it works with the D-100 which seem to be pretty cheap online @ e-bay... while phone software seems to be propritary to that one company mentioned above...

Hey RX7FDTT you may want to take a look at some microsoft stuff also, you may not even need the sdk from SONY to dial to the phone but its probably the best place to look. On my pda, with a CF bluetooth card , Outlook can dial numbers on my cellphone without any special programs and i doubt its got code for every bluetooth phone out. It may just be sending some universal commands to the phone. So it should work with any cellphone that has bluetooth.

look what i found

Not sure how good this works as i dont have a bluetooth card on my desktop PC just on my PDA but this app claims it can do what we want and more.

If someone out there that has a bluetooh card on there desktop PC and a bluetooth phone can check this app out and see how it works etc. that would be great. If it works like they say im going to get a bluetooth card for my pc tomorrow.

here is the link

if someone bluetooth enabled can post a screenshot of the phone dialer in this app, it wont let me acess it unless its connected to your phone.

it doesnt work with a nokia N-gage, but it managed to connect to a nokia 6310i with out any issues. dialer looks like a cut down version of calculator with the numeric display removed from the top and replaced with a drop down history box at the bottom. you get a basic numeric pad on the left hand side and dial, hangup and close buttons on the right. it is about the same siza as the standard calculator applications. if i have time tonight i'll get some screen shots.

So what does it use for audio in / out ?? Speakers and Mic ?? Or is it just a dialer where you still have to pull out the phone to speak !?

According to the description the dialing is done through bluetooth on your phone. I am not clear about the audio but it would be cool if it uses the PCs in and out.

The main thing holding me back from just purchasing the software is that I doubt I will be able to use my .ape (monkeysaudio) files with the media player. To try it I might have to go lossless WMA. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

ok been playing with it a bit more. i don't think this is the holy grail we've been looking for. it doen't support audio at all, and it doesn't provide any kind of caller id. it is contact management and text messaging over a bluetooth connection. the dialer does work but is very basic. you still have to put the phone to your head to talk.
