does anybody know

does anybody know how to set the seperate volume levels for each channel on an audigy?

I've been looking for this forever, Basically I just want to be able to balance & fader the sound between the front & rear left and right speaker.

I've found out how to switch front and rear off using c++, but that's not what I want. I want to increase and decrease the each channel....

anybody ?

The software that came with it - the Creative Sound Mixer and Speaker Settings - allow you to do this.

What I meant was to set the volumes using a programming language such as VB or C++, so that I can control the fader and balance from my own interface programm

If you have the ability to change the volumes you are looking for within the volume control panel of Windows, then the ability exists, but it will have to be through the Audigy's drivers (I don't have one, but I do have a Creative Labs PCI512). This is a job for tech support I believe. I think that they can easily point you in the direction you want to go!

Deadweasel,
that's what I tought also, but those losers won't tell you anything unless you're a registered company. They ask you to sign a document stating that you are a business and that you will be using your product commercially.
It stresses that if your just a some person trying to make your own software for what ever purpose you are violating the do's and don'ts mentioned in the document and that you are violating something....

I just don't understand why I can't find anything on the internet.. as I said, i've been trying to find a way to do it since forever (about the time I joined mp3car.com )

Huh? Well what the crap is THAT about?! Seems to me they wouldn't want someone commercially mucking about in their driverset. Wow. I've been a loyal fan of Creative products, but with that attitude, I feel driven to break apart their methods and find out how to get into it!

In fact...

*takes an unexpected and mysteriously clean shiat*

Well looky here!! Seems like somebody has already figured out how to delve into our good friend, the SoundBlaster! Unfortunately, it's all source code, done in C, but if anyone here has any idea how to read this *COUGHCOUGH******COUGHCOUGH* then I believe my man here could greatly benefit from your bravery and knowledge!

too bad it's only soundblaster (pro) .....

I've been having a go at it myself trying to figure out which apicalls etc. the several processes use, but there are so damn much of them, it's really hard to tell which is which, or even if the call is really for the SB or just a windows call....

BTW, I really don't care what language it is in, be it VB, C++ or even assembly as long as I can figure out which registers to set/read for the different output channels

tejesh83,

Thanks for the info, have you ever done anything with those? I know have a SDK but that's for creating your own sound set or something...
