Pretty cool Frodo and handy I might add! Especially for tv out users. But isn't the web saturated with enough of these utilities? Still a great app you got going here. Simplistic, yet useful. Love it!

I was going for a homegrown, simple implementation. So this is what came out.

Frodo

BTW Did you try it ?

If anybody needs more functionality, just ask, if I can code it, I'll try to add it.

Frodo

Yeah I was fiddling with it for a few minutes but I'm on the laptop and I'm running a high rez so really no need for it there, but I do need it on my tv out in the car. Using a TM-701L at 800x480 so this might come in handy.

I can't seem to get the hotkey to work. I hit ctrl+m, but no such luck I guess. Also, for us touch screen users, is there a way to make it so that the mouse is the actual magnifier window? I guess what I mean is can you make it so that the mouse looks like a huge magnifier? Also having selectable zooms from 2 to 10 might be cool (not sure how deep you are able to go).

EDIT: nm, got the hotkey to work. There just happens to be some lag time for me between max/min.

Tried it. Works, but seems quite slow. Quite a bit slower than the magnifier built into Windows XP.

Shortcut key works fine though.

As for features, the most obvious requirement is custom zoom level.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here, can you elaborate ?

I can do that.

Also be aware that the app is sizable, so an interim solution would be to make it bigger.

It starts up fine, it just seems to be jerkier movement than the built-in one. I'm guessing that you blit the whole frame every time, and the built in one maybe moves the image, and just blits the new bit that's been moved into zoom area...if you see what i mean.

I'm running an 1800MHz Dell, at work.

I think the suggestion about "looks like a big magnifier" means instead of having a stationary window that zooms what's under your mouse, he wants a large magnifying glass to move with the mouse, and zoom in that. Kinda like an app you used to be able to get for the Atari ST!

Have you compared it side-by-side with the XP version?
