What Prog. Language for Programs?

I am curious about what programming language others have used to program their MP3 Car software...

I get the impression Visual Basic is used some
C, C++, etc has been used

I have been researching Python (because it was used for Freevo) and I can't find any good training on GUI programming in Python...

Basically what I am looking for is a free to use, easy to learn, great GUI programming language....

Any sugesstion?

My programming experience is old school, Fortran, Pascal and Basic.... this new stuff is to me....

I'm using Flash with a wrapper program called Flash Studio Pro... works REALLY well... and I don't have to learn any new languages to interface with windows.

Hey would you possibly give up your source for that? I purchased FSP and would like to see how you went about building it!!!
