Anyone use Irmp3 (audio jukebox 4 linux)??

IrMP3 - Multimedia Audio Jukebox for Linux:
http://irmp3.sourceforge.net/index.php

Just wondering.. because currently i'm using WinME with winamp and 4x40 lcd.. and it takes awhile to load up..besides many other annoyances..

It also takes me a lil under a minute to boot...

And from the IrMP3 website one person using the software in a carpc says his boots in 17 seconds -
'the player to boot from cold to playing music in a big 17 Seconds'

That sounds freakin awesome.... but i dont know where to start..... and i have never used linux be4....

as far as starting linux quickly, there is a lot of info out there, one choice is is linuxbios

there are also some things you can do to the bootloader

if you are really interested in doing a linux media box, i would suggest just doing a simple instal first, just to get familiar with it, and install the IRMP3 program, or any other one you want to use, and get it working before you worry about startup speeds

there are way to many links to list, search google for "linuxbios", and for other things like "quick boot linux" "fast startup linux"

Alright maybe ill check it out... i have never used linux be4 so i dont really know how it works... (i just thought maybe someone would have used the same set-up i want to use , so it would be easier)

I have a old J-bond At pci500c-n mobo.... and it takes like awhile just to get thru POST and the bios stuff... i tried to disable the memory check... but i dont think you can...

Ill check out and see what BIOS version i have, if that matters... (i think its Award Bios)
