Engine sensor meters

Anyone can come out with a engine sensor gauges like those from motecs.

I have pcbs of the ADC-11 offered by www.picotech.com. Its a 11 channel 12 bit ADC plugged into the parallel port.

A cool idea would be to hook up some pressure sensors/temp sensors etc and have a nice read out for exhaust temp, oil temp, airtemp, airfuel ratio, boost meter gauge on the car pc. Connecting the sensors are relatively easy. To measure temperature I took some PC CPU temp sensors and stuffed it into the water hose. one end goes to ground while the other goes into the ADC input. Another resistor is connected across the ADC in and +5V. that forms a voltage divider. In the software provided by PICO you can set a formula in which the data will be displayed....

PCBs available from me at $5 worldwide postpaid. the software can be downloaded from the picotech website. You will need the IC TLC2543 DIL.

see attached picture. For $5 you wil get the PCB with chipresistor and chipcaps. The reason I'm selling it cheap its cos I would like someone to come out with some cool software... to make an ADC-11 you will need to purchase:

2 x 25w D-Type connector
1 x Housing as used in gender changers
1 x TLC2543CN available from Newark cost $8.90 ea

hope this helps

and yeah PICO is crazy for selling it for $200!

it hardly has any external components. It is directly connected to the parallel port. the inputs have 100K buffer resistors to prevent damage from spikes...
