C++: GUI Programming with >NET Framework

I have a question regarding programming in .NET with C++. I need a good book to teach me this subject for an internship I'll be starting soon & personal interest. Basically, I need to learn GUI programming with C++ (textboxes, labels, menus, etc.) and how to tie it to the .NET framework. My programming experience with C++ lies only in win32 console apps, but I do have a very good background with OO and pointers, etc. Up to now about 85% of all my work has been done through java, so it wont be as easy of a transition, but than again just another language, few extra days of scratching my head and than im good to go! So if you know of any good books please post a link or an isbn or something. Oh, and I know a lot of people like to use C#.. so i guess that would work too.

Any pointers in the right starting direction would be appreciated. Searching on the internet so far has only confused me more than i would like to.

Just browsing through amazon:

C# and the .NET Platform, Second Edition
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...me&start-at=11

Seems like a good choice. Anyone read this one?

So i wrote down a couple of book names and decided to check them out at the local chapters..

C# and the .NET Platform, Second Edition - More of a C# introduction than anything. While I will certainly have to get a good resource book on C# to fill in the gaps in transition, I will try and look for another. Small section on GUI design.

While browsing around i realized i shouldnt be looking at C# & .NET instead Visual Studio & .NET. Picked up a couple of books and browsed through them (well actually there was only two i found - both my SAMS).

There was the 24hour edition --> after skimming through the book I was left with a feeling that the entire book could have been packed into one subchapter of a much better book.

2nd one was by some Microsoft eng (dont remember the name nor the author) --> While this provided more relevant information, it also took big tangents into areas I'm currently not interested in such as ADO, Web-Programming etc.

Now time to start searching for other options. I'm sure there are Visual Studio users that browse this forum.. would be interesting to hear any pointers or feedback!

There was one i saw like 6yrs ago that was VERY good... Till this day i kick myself for not buying that book. It basically broke everything down. I mean i can look through alot of this VS c++ code and tell u what it is doing... but me sitting down and writing the visual part from scratch is a diff story... anyway if u find something please let me know i will check local borders here to see if they have any good books aswell and let ya know.
