Winamp playlist selector

I am looking for a plugin for Winamp 5.01 that will let me use a hotkey to switch between playlists in a certain folder. Now, I found one on winamp.com that works but the problem is that it doesn't have keypad support, which is the only thing I use to control Winamp. Anyone know of another one that does this?

Thanks

There is a way to manually assing hotkeys to playlists. You can create windows shortcuts, then go into properties and assing a different key to each shortcut. But there is a problem since if you assign letter or number keys to playlists, they will launch whenever you try to type something using those particular keys.
I, for example, use this method with numeric keyboard. I have 6 playlists which contain my 1500 tracks organized by music genre (rap, techno, pop, etc.) and it works very well.

EDIT: Actually, I have so many playlists that I wouldn't have enough keys to assign to them all (at least from my keypad) so this probably won't work. I just need a way to scroll through my playlists.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm not really familiar with this process though. Do you think you could go through it for me step by step?

Thanks

Well, if I were you I would just group your songs by genre.
To assign a hotkey to a windows shortcut you just go into shortcut's properties

I use Girder - have a OSD menu (this can be on the screen or shipped to a LCD char equipment with some keys) - I have the OSDBuilder looking for the M3U files and generate the menu I am using to select.

once selected, the M3U file is "executed" and runs into winamp.

this is kinda easy to perform according you are willing to learn girder a bit, but it is worthed.

Go to autohotkey.com

It is very simple program that lets you write a little script and assign a hotkey to it. It gives you a lot of options on how a hotkey will work and you would be able to come up with thousands of combinations to select a playlist. Off the top of my head a simple one line script like this would run the playlist with the default program for m3u files:

1&2::Run, C:\Music\Playlist\Sample_Playlist.m3u

You would hold down 1 and 2 to open the playlist. Just make sure you don't have multiple instances allowed for Winamp. Let me know if this is what you're looking for. I've had pleanty of success with using Autohotkey with my remote control.

Cool, I'll try that out. I'll let you know how it works probably by this weekend.

EDIT: Well, I looked at it and it looks pretty cool, but it only looks like I can assign number combinations to individual playlists. What I really need is a way to scroll between playlists.
