I've been very happy with the BIOS boot logo that I made and it worked great, kept my fingers crossed the whole time.
Now it been quite some time, and I am still pleased..

My MB is the MII 1000 and I'm wondering how many other MB's have this capabilty.
The reason that I ask, is making a system where space is not a big concern. There are MB's that are cheaper and more powerfull, but full-size.

Anyway, just looking for some input on full size boards that have a BIOS that can be changed

Does anyone have a new link for downloading the Epia Bios? I can't remember if I put a M1000, or the M12000 (same bios?) in it now, and would like to download both onto my computer to play with, and try to get this worked out. I have the image, just need to learn how to put it into the bios, and create a boot CD. This is a great thread! thanks for the info!

I've been trying to change the Boot Screen on my sp13000, but awardmod doesn't see this as an award bios. I've searched but haven't found anything, has anyone been able to modify the sp13000 boot image?

Yes, this happened to me also.
Awardmod is kinda outdated.. I've used CBROM215 to modify the BIOS although i hadn't the chance to test it yet.
follow the instructions at http://www.blackfiveservices.co.uk/awbmtools.shtml.
Actually, awardmod is used just for double check the result.

I've a couple of thoughts for you...

1. I used winflash on a SP13000 without any trouble.
2. I've had winflash claim the BIOS isn't Award, but a reboot corrected that. It puts a .sys file in windows/system32, so maybe it needs a reboot to work

Just an idea. I've never had any trouble with winflash. And it's made by Phoenix (aka Award).

I just finished adding a boot logo to my carputer, I'll share it in case anyone comes along with a similar setup who wants a similar logo ;-).

Here is what it looks like on my screen. The image I'm showing is 800x480, which is the native resolution of my LCD. The actual image I put in the flash is one created at 800x480 natively, then resized to 640x480 so that when the LCD stretches it to fit the display, it'll have the correct dimensions. Make sense?

The motherboard is a VIA EPIA MII 12000. The BIOS version is 1.35. No changes have been made to the BIN other than adding the boot logo. This works on my setup -- but the risk of flashing your own BIOS with this file is entirely your own risk.

That said ... the file is here.

Has anyone been able to do this on a M10000 w/ 1.16 BIOS?

******** 116.bin BIOS component ********

No. Item-Name Original-Size Compressed-Size Original-File-Name
================================================== =============================
0. System BIOS 20000h(128.00K)12AD9h(74.71K)I0100116.BIN
1. XGROUP CODE 0AD10h(43.27K)079F9h(30.49K)awardext.rom
2. ACPI table 030B9h(12.18K)01408h(5.01K)ACPITBL.BIN
3. EPA LOGO 0168Ch(5.64K)002AAh(0.67K)AwardBmp.bmp
4. GROUP ROM[ 0] 054D0h(21.20K)025D9h(9.46K)_EN_CODE.BIN
5. YGROUP ROM 04A70h(18.61K)031CCh(12.45K)awardeyt.rom
6. VGA ROM[1] 0EC00h(59.00K)096CFh(37.70K)Mclecomb.rom
7. PCI ROM[A] 0A000h(40.00K)05FF2h(23.99K)pxe.lom

Total compress code space = 35000h(212.00K)
Total compressed code size = 309EAh(194.48K)
Remain compress code space = 04616h(17.52K)

I've been looking at the tiff's posted here, and I only have about 18k of free space available compared to the 50k you guys have. Any ideas?

You can always lose the epa logo and the PCI to make some room.

Yeah I can't get rid of the PCI ROM, because as I understand I'll need to send songs via EZSync over my network at home. I'll just need to get it under 18k.

Edit: Was able to squeeze it on but I had to decrease the quality a great deal and remove the EPA image.
