Post Thinking of Installing a computer. Need Help!

Hello all,
well, I currently have a somewhat ok audio system.
CD Player = Pioneer Premier DEH-920R
2 RF Amps = 400a4 running all 6 speakers inside the car while the 500a2 runs my subs
Subs = 2 12" Image Dynamics IDQ
I think that's the most inportant part of it so far.

Now, I want to add a computer to run my MP3, an LCD for a little visualization.

Here's what I wanted.
a 5.4"-6.8" LCD screen where I can run my playstation, VCR, DVD (in the future) and I can see what song title/lenght/options like when you see in winamp.
I would also like to run the Geiss plugin from winamp. To those who'e not familiar with the plugin, it's a visualization plugin with lots of color scheme (like in another world) and goes with the beat.

I would like to somehow integrate it with my premier DEH-920R. So I can use the volume and stuff. I'm not sure if I still use my remote but it's not a big deal. I was thinking of a wireless keyboard anyway. here's the url: Premier 920R

my budget on the LCD is around $300 to maybe $350 (with controller and stuff).
the computer and stuff is 300-400

I don't know what type of video card should I get especially with this kind of LCD/setup. I don't know if I still need a sound card, what type do I need?

I would appreciate if somebody can suggest anything on this. I have no clue on where to start. I guess this BB is a good one.

(sorry, I made a mistake on posting it here when it's suppose to be under General Discussion, I don't know how to move it there)
thank you very much

well this is the best place to start. BUT the first thing to do, is read previouse posts, and use the search function to search for particular information. All this along with searching members websites ( http://www.mp3car.com/searchexamples.asp ) This can be the best place to get ideas and solutions.

cheers.

thanx for the reply hornet,
yes, I checked the previous posts but I can't seem to find something about integrating a computer to a deh-920r from premier. Pioneer uses this IP bus thing to connect to a cd changer and stuff but I don't know how to do it with a computer. I would like to still use my volume control and my current car audio's power for my mp3s.
I don't know any aux thing with it.

I am reading more about LCD though.... In just one day, I've read on so many things about it. I have to read more.

I guess I'll start with the integration thing for now since that's my biggest concern.... I don't want to throw my beloved 920r

again use the search function, search for "ip bus" or similar. there is another thread active at the moment that is asking about using the IP bus to run a mp3car. you can buy an aux adaptor from pioneer, for $US75 for u can create your own 'hack'. for information on this, check out arby's website he has schematics and pictures.

also check out the other thread regarding this same topic here

cheers
