CNS Maestro II now FREE / MAESTRO PRO is on the way

Hi,
I would first like to apology if the tread is not in the right place, but I post here for first time.

May I take the opportunity to announce that "Maestro II" is now free for download from the official site www.cns.bg . Please do not hesitate to send us your comments.

And now the HOT NEWS - MAESTRO PRO will be available soon!

Below please find a brief description on some of the really cool features in the new version of Maestro which is on the way to be released very soon.

Application Name - Maestro Pro

Application Objective - To bring an unbeatable stability at lightning speed, independent from today’s Operating Systems and car PCs hardware configurations. Maestro PRO is created with passion, aiming to set the new standards in Automotive Computing.

Unbeatable stability at lightning speed - Being really Automotive, Maestro Pro is reliable, professionally written application created by the most talented Bulgarian software engineers. All time-critical algorithms, functions and communication between different modules have been written entirely in assembler.

True platform independence - Maestro Pro could run on all Microsoft 32 bits Operating Systems (Windows 95 and above), Linux/UNIX- and it goes even further - it can be used without any OS. For example - you can boot directly from a memory card and you’re directly in Maestro. Forget about those boring Operating Systems’ problems and long boot process.

Display Resolution Independence - Got bored with these “Desired screen resolutions” that other applications need? You can use Maestro Pro in your favorite screen resolution - from less than 300x200 up to 1600x1200. And it can be increased even more if you insist on but in fact there’s really no need. Maestro PRO will automatically detect your screen resolution and will load itself as you expect to see it. No blank screens, no resolution changes, no DirectX, just the right algorithms and lots of mathematics

Richest hardware support ever created - Hardware support of Maestro PRO is now dramatically extended - from almost all Bluetooth-enabled phones to all USB TV, FM, DAB and XM tuners and all storage devices like memory cards, USB Flash etc

Cool 3D-style multilingual user interface - Maestro PRO supports US and UK English, German, French, Arabic and Hebrew.

Left/Right Steering Wheel Support - Have you ever found other car pc software that is so precise that you can select Left/Right Steering Wheel? Maestro PRO will re-draw its interface so it can be used with maximum comfort.

OBD/CAN support - All you have to do is just to connect your car pc to the car’s interface and you will enjoy the cool and aggressive analogue or digital gauges and see the status of all desired units of the car.

Greatest Multimedia support ever - Maestro PRO supports TV, FM, XM and DAB devices for your convenience. Genre support, import and export of play lists; multimedia content management is just a small part/piece of the cool features in Maestro PRO.

Integration with stock equipped multimedia - No matter what car audio you have chosen - from Mark Levinson, Harmann Kardon, Pioneer, Alpine, Fujitsu/Aisin or others - Maestro PRO supports all these valuable communication protocols like IP BUS, I-BUS, etc. This way you can control your car pc directly from the steering wheel multimedia controls.

New Phone Application is а masterpiece - All features you expect to find are built in, just like in Smart phones, but seriously extended. Once you’ve began to use Phone application in Maestro PRO you will start wondering why today’s mobile and smart phones are so poor and futureless. Stuff like SMS, MMS, Picture and Voice Dialing, One-Touch Recording, Polyphonic sounds, Answering machine and many more are just a screen tap away. Looking for more? Then select your favorite audio tracks to be played on your counterpart while the call is put on hold, or use video conference calls. There’s more than enough professionally developed and carefully selected features for the most hard to please customers.

And many more! Come back soon on www.cns.bg for more details.

No, its worse than that, my download is at 0.3 kb/sec. Even with a 56k modem you could get 4 or 5kb/sec. At this rate I'll be here all day.

Edit: Download got cancelled. Wasted over half and hour for less than .5 megs.

Edit2: Downlad cancelled again. Error 'The source file could not be read'

Downloaded but didn't install. Maestro Pro may be OS-independent, but the free version 2 is definitely NOT. Here are some of the release notes:

The following prerequisites must be installed before the installation of CNS Maestro:
· Windows XP Professional + SP1
· DirectX SDK 9.0b
· Windows Media Player 9
· .NET Framework 1.1
The following prerequisites are not required, but different features of Maestro will not work if they are missing:
· TV Tuner driver (PixelView)
· FM Tuner driver and Radiator (1.8 or later).
· Destinator v2 (For the navigation)
· Bluetooth drivers and Nokia 6210 (will work with other phones but is not tested yet)
· Codecs for Media Player. The stable set of codecs which is tested to work is AC3 Codecs, DivX codecs and XVid codecs.

I think I'll pass.

Hi guys,

it looks like our download link got 'red' & crazy, handling more than 100 simultaneous downloads. As we would like to bring a comfortable download to you we have just added 6 download mirrors for international visitors.

I'd like to apologize for any inconvenience the slow download might have caused to you.

br,
Svetoslav

Well , I took a few minutes to try the software out. I was able to install and register without a hitch. The download did take a little bit of time but since the addition of the new mirrors I was able to get the download completed in about 10 minutes.

First off I want to thank the authour for providing another free in car solution to the community as each project adds another dimension to our software possibilities.

what that being said my personal thoughts on this software is that it shows alot of promise of becoming a good option for anyone looking for a in-car solution. As of now with the current version the program feels as as if it were still in very early Beta phase and was still being developed.

Moving forward I think the company should evaluate their list of promises, and provide a more flexable setup utility that would be able to embrace a more wide group of users.

Just my 2 cents
-S

Scorp, you've summed it up perfectly.

I too did the D/L, install and Reg. without a hitch and was pleased with the look of the product but it is just not ready for mainstream. With enough time and thought it could really be a hit, keep up the good work Svetoslav.
