DOS Vis

I'm in a bit of a bind, here. I would like to have some sort of fancy visualization in DOS, but since I'm going to write my own interface to the MP3 decoder card, there's no way I can use any DOS MP3 player's built-in Vis. So what I need is any source code that would be of help to me in making a simple (or elegant) DOS visualization that will accept just about any input. Any suggestions?
