Post Software announcement for small composite LCDs

Looking for software for your 4" (or larger) composite LCD? Tired of squinting trying to set up winamp? check out my free player at www.mp3it.net . I just did a major site upgrade with screenshots.

How do you play songs and select songs etc with no keyboard? In the config it uses keyboard keys for everything?

Wink

That is in case you are using a non-mouse control that can map stuff to a keyboard. I use a 5 Button Wheeled mouse, with the buttons mapped as Click, Shift click, center click(the Wheel), right click and shift right click.. The wheel scrolls and the buttons perform the functions. If you are using this type of control you dont need to map those keys at all.
Originaly I was using a X10, and had all the buttons mapped to keys. I will add this to the FAQ.

[a Form of this will be added to the readme]
Map the far left button to "Click" map the next button to "shift Click" map the Button under the wheel to "Middle Click". Map the ext button to Right-Click, and the last button to "Shift-Right-Click".
(For this Discussion lets number the buttons 1-5 from left to right). We'll also assume all the key definitions are set to default.

When you are on any list the wheel will scroll the list, and button 3 will select that item.

Button 5 will bring you from the Song list->Artist List->album List->Play lists->"Playing" Screen, button 3 ("the Wheel button") will Select and play that item (If it’s an artist then all songs by that artist, if it’s an album, all songs on that album). Button 1 will bring you up the tree from where you are. If you are on the album ”Dark Side of the Moon”, it will bring you up to Pink Floyd. If you are on the Song "Another brick in the wall 2" it will bring you to the "wall cd 1". Button 2 will bring you down the tree. If you are on "Pink Floyd" it will bring you to the list of ALL the Pink Floyd albums in your collection. If you are on "Wish you were here" it will bring you to the songs from that CD.

On the "playing" screen the buttons have the following effects:
Wheel Next/Previous song.
Button 1: Toggle Shuffle play on/off. (true “No repeat” shuffle)
Button 2: Toggle Jukebox mode on/off. If jukebox mode is Off, Items you select will start playing immediately. If Jukebox mode is on, item you select just get added to the play list.
Button 3: No use right now.
Button 4: Pause/Unpause music.
Button 5: Brings you to the Song list (see above.)

Once you have a bunch of songs in your play list (using jukebox mode) you can save that play list by going to the "play list screen" (using button 5 until you get there) and selecting "Save Play list" then use your wheel and Button 3 to name it (Pretend you are in an arcade). If you save a play list called default, it will get loaded, shuffled, and start playing every time you start mp3it.

Does this clear it up at all?
