Visual Basic HD44780 OCX, please?

Doesn't anyone have an OCX for controlling a HD44780 display on the parallell port? (Inmotion wireing) I could have made it myself but it's not so simple in VB ... Especially not in Win2000. (Hardware access problems) I could install VC++ but I'm no good at that so I don't know how the result would me... I don't even have a small clue on how to make OCX'es

Why are you using windows2000 anyways? The boot time is so incredibly long on that.

Because it's the os that works best on my system ... Besides... I screwed up when installing it... Forgot to backup the bootsector ... So now I can't boot my 98 anymore

... But anyho' ... I'm just developing my software on w2k ... I'm not planning on using it in my car. There I'll probably use 98lite or something.

If I can't find an OCX for the display I will make one myself. Anyone interested in using it or helping me develop it should contact me @ wattengaard@st.telia.no ... I will also have some info up at http://norge.mp3car.com soon.

Since you're probably one of the only people using win2k on their mp3car setup, I was wondering if you got a chance to try hibernation. Just wondering if you could tell us your experiences with it if you've been using it.

Here hibernation worx like a dream ... Windows boots up in ~20 secs. (Not including POST, hd-detections etc.) And if you were playing a mp3 when shutting down the same mp3 continues to play exactly where you left it ... Kind'a cool
