Any front ends with ipod support?

Ipod support as in "plug in your ipod and have access to all your ipod tracks and playlists?"

I use a plugin for Foobar2000 to do this on my home PC and I'm addicted to having this kind of access to my files without having to actually move them to the computer in question. It's nice. Winamp's got this capability too, with the right plugin. But I haven't seen any way to do this through any of the carpc frontends available.

Am I missing something?

I haven't got an ipod. When you do plug the iPod into the PC, does it show up as a USB hard drive, or do you have to use a special Apple program to access the files, like you do with some of the iRiver players?
If it shows up as a removable HD then it should be fairly easy to add to a carputer software.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you want to control the iPod in a kewl interface?

If there is a Winamp plugin for this, go post in the Road Runner forum... it is a cool idea for those that own an ipod...

I'm pretty sure Guino will think it is a worthwhile feature...

(The Road Runner Frontend uses winamp as a backend, and as such can interface to most if not all winamp plugins)

Hey, the songs are on the ipod when acccessed as a disk.
they are just hidden.
if you enable "show hidden/system files/folders" on your computer, you can browse the files.

after you do this, browse around until you find a bunch of folders starting with F00, f01, f02,...

as long as you don't CHANGE anything(I.E.:delete, move) you'll be safe

this is true on my nano anyway

The music library itself is stored in a special directory format that is difficult to read...making it necessary to reconstruct the library database if you want to acess the files with a custom interface. There's a yahoo group that was working on hacks for the Omnifi MP3 player (a Rockford Fosgate HD based product) that was moving toward something like an iPod interface six months or so ago...might want to check there.

I want that... My AIBO is sooo lifeless. (I don't have an AIBO actually, but it would be a cool geek factor!)

Yes, i always thought would be cool to have one... u could use it as mobile wifi relay station... programming it so that it always positions itself between u and fixed infrastucture (or car)...

They should set up millions of them to wander the streets, and they all would be WiFi hotspots. No dog would ever be farther away then the range of 802.11g, so if evn only 1 dog has found an unsecure connection, they all share it!!! Mwahahahaha.

Ok, maybe trillions of dogs, because of WiFi range... still nifty. And they would scare away all the homeless people! (hopefully)
