V1 Virtual Display : Skinnable Valentine One to PC Software
Alpha Release features : - Popup display on alert with configurable location and display time
- Skinnable user interface allows the user to customize the display
- Aspect ratio correction
- Two way communication with the V1 by clicking on the notification icon, or on the display.
- Touch screen friendly
- Allows multiple applications to access the display data though a DLL
I am still working on adding features, some of which I am pretty excited about and I might also make a client that does not require .Net. It shouldn't take much to support a standard serial interface, but I am not particularly motivated to work on that at the moment.
There is only the default skin right now, which is kinda hard to see during the day, but I am hoping that some of the more artistic among you might be interested in making some skins. It is also kinda klunky, since it is kind of a tutorial skin.
Without the hardware all you can do is play with the settings and view skins, but please take a look and tell me what you think.

Next step, for the people with multi-channel sound, play the warning sound over the carputer speaker from the speaker in the direction the signal is detected as coming from. Even with stereo, this would be super handy #1.

Chairboy - that is in the works
takissed - there is going to have to be some work done for the vb stuff, I tried connecting to it and it hangs, but the C# and c/c++ programs I have work fine.
I am working on a logging feature, and an option to play back a log, so you can see how it looks while running and connected.

It would also be cool to have it monitor the GPS (time to use one of those serial splitter programs) and log each signal along with latitude/longitude and direction. You could create a map of known radar/laser sources and maybe eventually write logic that gives special alerts on new signal sources in areas that were traditionally 'clean'.
My goal, of course, is to eventually have AWACS functionality in my car.

Just a thought: The V1 is somewhat limited to red LEDs and a cramped display. You could probably come up with a better design if things aren't in a specific location, like having a verticle signal strength, changing colors, arrows get larger for strength, LCD look for K, Ka, laser, etc. That would be pretty complicated for skinning, but just an idea.

The skinning supports all that and more. I am trying to get some of my more artistically inclined friends to help me out. I did this skin because I am not very creative.... This skin is also pretty hard to see in the daytime, I need something with more contrast.
