Recomend a front end.

Hi,
I'm just about to install my set up into my Peugeot 406 Coupe, and still undecided on which front end to use.
I'm currently playing around with Frodoplayer, which although is excellent, I just can't get Pone Control to work nicely with it, i.e it's obvious its running seperatly (if that makes sense)
The main things I want at the moment are GPS (currently using Destinator), MP3, DVD, and bluetooth hands free.
Please point me in the right direction (currently available suggestions only please, I know aimee is on the way, but I need something now.)

Thanks for your help.

Really it depends on what you need the front end to do. Frontends like Centrafuse and Frodoplayer include almost every feature available. Some dont but are slimmed up really nicely and run alot quicker. Thens theres looks. Do like I did and download all the ones your interested in and use them for a few days on your desktop to get the feel for them.

You do realize that you can download each one and try them all out to form your own opinion.....

There are a lot of different front ends, each of those front ends has different skins, not to mention different quirks just trying to get them working smoothly. It's a lot to dig through.

I haven't been able to use too many of them yet, but I would love to see a list of plusses and minues for each front end all in one list.

Frodoplayer
+ Good support, active development
+ Sliders (from a skinning standpoint)
- Options are a big mess

Neocar
+ Slick interface
- Bit slow

etc. etc.

I'm trying to make a skin and I got so sick of trying to figure out which front end would be capable of doing I'd like I just said screw it and started on the skin. I'll figure out something later. Worse comes to worse I'll just skin winamp and just have an mp3/dvd player.

Good luck, let us know what things you like and don't like about the ones you try.

Right now I am using RoadRunner and it is off the hook. Great support and good looking skins, plus it came with a spinning Honda emblem so it goes with my car.

There are spinning logos available for RR for almost every make of car. The honda logo is just the default one it comes with.

RR is by far the best in my opinion. I got rid of all the others very quickly after discovering RR.
