Turning a 17" monitor into a 7" one

I currently have my carputer in my house while i set set up the skin for iGuidance and i want to check to see how the skin will look on a 7" monitor. I want to make lots of changes so constantly going back and fourth to my car would be a reall pain. Is there any software or option in windows that will allow me to use my 17" monitor as though it were a 7" one. Maybe something were I input the physical size of my lilliput monitor and that is the only potion of the 17" screen it displays on.

Thanks for the help!

Resource hog?

Anyways, we answered that guy's question probably

Or he can just change the resolution on his monitor.

What res. do you run the carputer monitor at? Just run your 17" at the same resolution that the lilliput runs at and be done with it. I run my Lilliput at 800x600, so for me all I would have to do is force my monitor to run at 800x600. You can do that at any resolution, let us know if you need help forcing it to display at the resolution you need it to.

Or better yet, install a frontend on your PC, such as Frodo or RoadRunner. Open it up and it will display on your desktop in a fairly close resolution to what your lilliput looks like. Open iGuidance and resize the window to the same as Frodo or RoadRunner. All you need to do is resize the iGuidance window to 800x480 (I think).

Real VNC is the best VNC alive. Oh did I mention that it is easy to set up and it's free?
