Hey all. I just recently installed my carputer, an Epia SP 13000 based system.
My home PCs are both Mac systems (Powerbook and iMac) -- I switched about 3 or four years ago and haven't looked back (after about 12 years of using Windows, Linux, BSD, and toying with some other random OSes).
I chose an x86 archtechture because really the only good GPS software available is for Windows. I must say though, I freaking HATE it. It's so unreliable and just a big piece of **** in general. I've been thinking a lot about how QNX would be fantastic as it's designed specifically for embedded systems.
Take a look at this article

I know that it already supports popular sound and video formats. I even know someone that's a QNX programming guru.
Seeing that some major auto manufacturers have gotten begind it as well, there must be GPS software too.
Wow, it would be nice to dump windows. Anyone else taken a look at QNX?
