Ah, that makes more sense now. For some reason it's not the same on all systems though, or maybe it was just half way loaded at that point. I bumped it up to an earlier boot start so that should fix it. I uploaded a new XPort and Compass so get both. The compass has a large OK button on the config and I removed the new delayed reopen code. On XPort, just uncheck and check it and it should have the new startup settings.

lol. Well, I don't know. I can change it from system start to boot start, which has to be before anything else. I just uploaded that change (in XPort). The manifests just make the buttons look better and the new "Reset Arbiter" button is just some code that fixes all those (in use) ports that really aren't when you use bluetooth devices. Just ignore it.

well i pressed it a few times and realised it didnt do anything but could see it was cycling thru the ports
Im not sure if you changed anything today but the current version of compass still needs an open/close to work on boot... have gone back to the working version, which seems to work fine with the updated xport too.

Well, I uploaded a new one about 4 hours ago. It has a 5 second delay. Not sure what else I can do with it at this point. Something in XPort is getting blocked but I think it may be beyond my control. At least for now.

The same Xport/Compass version is running fine without a single problem in my Supra setup. In my Matrix, it only work 95% of the time out of hibernation. Open and Close Compass configure window brings it back to life. Consider 5 out of a 100 times I have to do it, I wouldn't bother checking to see problem with setup or the software.
I guess that's kind of the same thing. It thinks it worked but didn't. I have an idea, but it might take some time to get to it.

I setup the compass to port 7 ( my gps port ).
I can now see data when i run compass

What else can it be?
Kato, that all looks right. Make sure the enable service is checked and also that you don't start the compass before the service is enabled.

I have a new one up if anyone wants to try it. It asks Xport if it connected right. Hopefully that will fix at least that part of it. I'm thinking Windows is opening all the COM ports and waiting to see if a mouse is connected, so if that can be disabled it might be a good thing to try as well.

Ok, well the good news is its working again no open-close shuffle needed now.
what is the next objective (if anything?) fyi it still doesnt happen early enough to load before anything in the startup folder but thats only an observation, I dont have a need for that functionality.

I think I'm done for now. I'm sure the COM ports are there before Windows loads, but something is scanning them and holding on to them longer than it should so the other apps can't open them right at startup. The only thing I can think of right now is to make/find something (app or script) that waits a few seconds and launches them.
