was this plug-in made BEFORE 2004? Because that's apparently when teh FBI put their little logo on these CDs....and any CD with that logo on it is the CD that I'm having trouble with....

In my experience any time that I've come across a DVD, CD, Game, that I had troubles copying or ripping, it. Usually someone has already figured it out. If the tracks will play in WinAmp just set the preferences to use the plugin that outputs the playback directly to WAV then go WAV to mp3.

since you do actually hold the rights to have a copy, just download one instead, probably be much quicker.

Have you tried CDex? Do these cd's play in WMPlayer? There are programs that can "record what you hear" and similar to mp3...etc.
good luck.

Finding whole albums at 320K might prove difficult.

return the CDs to the store for a refund. tell them they sold you defective audio CDs if they ask.
the music industry will keep making copyprotected CDs if the public keeps buying them.
