also found this on a website

Quote:
For example, a student at Princeton University discovered a method to disable new copy protection that the CD manufacturer BMC is developing. This student found if you hold down the shift key while the CD begins to load onto your machine the Microsoft Windows AutoRun feature prevents the anti-piracy software from loading. This doesn't delete the program but bypasses the copy protection installation, making the music available for copying.

"mushroom head, papa roach, spiderbait, slipknot"

sounds like rough boys music could you be more specific with the album names so I dont have to look them up please

anyway you dont need 320, like a said a good lame extreme rip will keep it at 320 when its needed but drop it through 256 128 etc when the frame does not require such a heavy encode

you mean it does a variable bit-rate rip...

unless I can be sure that the music has been ripped in a variable bitrate mode, I'm going ot fall back on the 320k....

you can see the bitrate before you download it- if its all non standard numbers (like not 320, 256, 192 etc)... but like 235 or 54 or something thats vbr and its just displaying the bit rate that the first frame is encoded at

so get this....

lol

I tried every single method I could think of to rip these cds....and what works?! Windows Media Player...lol

I still can't see the music files when I try to explore the disc...but for some reason if I have windows media player open, it will immediately place the music files into the list and get all teh titles, etc....and I can rip them that way

strange....

I haven't used windows media player in forever....odd that it would be the one that I could get to work

heh
