Application idea...need someone to program it...
Hey I was just thinking. I am using MBM5 to tell me my CPU and Case temperature.
Would it be possible for someone to code an application that would extract the CPU and Case information and dispaly it on the screen for X amount of seconds then the program would terminate after the amout of seconds.

If you are interested in how this happens, download the RoadRunner source, Guino uses MBM integration and you should be able to extract the process from that.

Ah, but then he would need to be able to read and program in VB.

Well Visual Basic has provided many people their foothold into the world of programming.. why not one more?
All it takes is a curious attitude and the willingness to spend lots of time staring at something which doesnt appear to make sense.. then it clicks and it works... Not that this happens to me.. my stuff all works first time.... Flows like water it does... yea.. right..

Hmm, I tend to agree with enforcer. I think that if you want to learn some VB crackin open guino's code and studying is certainly not the way to go. Perhaps, a message box that says "Hi, welcome to VB" would be the right place to start. As far as the original idea goes, If Guino likes it, it'll be done before you can blink.

I agree, Guino's code is far too complex for someone new to look at, but then that never stopped me. I always looked into things that i may not of necessarily understood at the time, but helped me later on.
Its all about exposure, looking at what others do, and see how to do it better.
But in this case, it would simply to be able to see what he does with MBM, theres probably a few key commands with some fluff around them.

.
I taught myself to program looking at complex code. The "hello world" stuff is kinda boring now anyways. I think there's no better way to learn. Might as well dive right in, screw getting your feet wet or testing the waters.
"Just close your eyes and drive"
P.S. Goodluck!

I agree completely, and coincidentally, Intellaworks, you're building a frontend in .NET?

codeproject is often the end of my searches for vital information, i usually hit it about 2-3 times a day, often more if im delving into something really nutty... basically CodeProject is the ****.

FYI, PCWizard2005 reads your computers monitoring chip and displays important data in the upper right when the program is minimized. It seems to work with all computers and detects the montioring chip on its own. There may be a way to plug in and extract the information from that program easily.
