DOS and formatting

Hello,
I would like to format my hard drive with DOS but it formats the drive into FAT16 which only allows up to 2GB hard drives. I will be using DOS as my secondary OS. Is there a program that formats into a more recent format type that will also allow me to install DOS?

I don't have to install win98 do I? Windows98 was the last version that had a real DOS right? The DOS emulator wont run some programs I'm intending to use. Also, does win98 have the reboot in DOS option?

download the windows 98 disk and extract it to a floppy. insert the floppy into your pc and power up the PC. it should boot to the floppy drive then you can formate your drive.

Word of advice from a long-time technician:
Get the drivers and make them readily available BEFORE you install the OS!

Also, what DOS apps are you running that don't play nice in Win2000/XP? I may be able to help you with that.

Well, actually just make sure you at least have the network card drivers and access to the internet

The main one is a video game that wont work. I wasn't intending to have windows anyways. I'm thinking Linux. Until google comes out with GooOS I'm stuck with either.
EDIT: The game is ultima 8: Pagan. Pure nostalgia effect, they came out with a windows version but surprise surprise, it doesn't work.
